What's the pay scale for Houston and Dallas/FT Worth?
Do you know what the rates are like in areas north of dallas such as denton, lewisville, mckinney etc. And also what are the rates in arlington? Which hospitals are some the better ones to work in this Dallas area. I'm currently doing a travel assignment at Methodist Dallas. Thanks for your reply.

Is this rate a base rate without shift diffs included? Oh yea, which hospitals are paying these rates and are they good hospitals to work for? I appreciate you responding to me.

What's the pay scale for Houston and Dallas/FT Worth?
Hey you guys maybe someone can help me out. My girlfriend and I have been traveling for a year now. We was possibly thinking of moving to Dallas or Houston to work staff jobs. I have two years experience in Med/surg and she has three years experience in the NICU. We both are wondering what are the pay rates for nurses (BSN) with our experience level in Houston and in Dallas, and which facilities are paying these rates. We both want to obtain staff jobs in different areas though. I want to go into the ICU and she wants to go into the pediatric ER. Any advice or information will be gladly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Newbie need information about California Assignments and travel agencies
Do you know if the Kaiser hospital is traveler friendly? Oh yeah, is it true about the 4-5 patient/nurse ratio out in Cali? That will really be different if thats true because I'm used to dealing with at least 7 patient/day. I guess you can figure out that I'm a med/surg nurse. I will mention the Memorial hospital to my travel agent. Do Santa Rosa put you in the mind of a country-type atmosphere.

Newbie need information about California Assignments and travel agencies
Hey GoodAsGoldRN. Thanks for replying to my email. It is funny that you are from Santa Rosa. My travel agent just told my girlfriend and I about an assignment at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Santa Rosa. I heard that Kaiser hospitals can be crazy. Do you know if this is a good facility to take an assignment at. I see that it was in your list. Oh yeah, is Santa Rosa a good spot to visit as far as things to do? I really would appreciate your response.

Newbie need information about California Assignments and travel agencies
Hey, my girlfriend and I are about to take our first assignments. We want to travel to California initially, but we just don't know exactly what city or hospitals that are an excellent choice for our first assignments. A travel agency told us to look more toward the northern california region or the LA area for top pay assignments, and we want feedback for these regions. I work in med/surg, and she work in the NICU. We also wanted to know if anyone had any feedback on the travelmax agency and on-assignment agency. We are talking with both of those agencies as of now. We were talking to A. M., but we have got to much bad feedback on that agency. Let us know if you know of any other agency that are great. Thanks in advance.

Use of the whiteboard on the NCLEX
I wrote my lab values down soon as I got stationed at my computer. I also wrote other little tips to remember such as "remember ABC's, Maslow, physical before psychosocial etc. I suggest you write down values that you have the most trouble remembering. It prove to be useful to me.

NCLEX SUCCESS: 5th time made the difference
Hey to all you guys. This was my 5th time taking this NCLEX, and with the grace of God I passed. I give all credit to Him because he kept me even through these darkest times. I found this sight about 2 months ago and I found all you guys to be helpful. I thanked all those who gave me encouraging words and tips about that exam. I can not begin to explain how happy I am. I got my results yesterday at work by checking the licensure status online. I told my coworkers at work, and the entire floor got emotional. It took all that I could to hold back tears. My family was so excited about the outcome as well. I just wanted to let anyone who is taken that exam for the 1st time or even several times know that it is possible. I will be dedicated to encouraging future nurses on this site. I passed with about 80-85 questions. This has to be one of the greatest feeling that I have ever had. Prayer does work. All thanks to the ALMIGHTY.

Doubtful about NCLEX Exam
I took the nclex 8/28/06. I had about 80-85 questions. I have a lot of doubt because it seems as though I was getting lower level questions. I had about 10-15 priority questions, a few infection control, and about 10 medication questions. I heard that medication questions were lower level. The medication questions were asking about side effects of different meds. I just don't know man. I got a gut feeling that I didn't come out to well. It seems as though some my questions were signs/symptoms of different disorders such as thyroid disorder, pagets disease, etc. I'm just filled with doubt right now. I really can't afford to fail this thing again.

Desperately need help for boards.
Hey you guys. I have failed boards 4 times now. I have taken the Hurst review and the kaplan review. I haven't had success with either. I have been putting in the study time before testing, but I just keep coming up unsuccessful. I got a test date for Aug. 28. I have been answering questions from the saunders cd hoping that this will help give some assistance. I talk with some nurses at work and they advise me to answer tons of questions instead of continuing to read content in the review books. I've never had an issue with failing when it came to education. I feel as though this test has shaken my confidence to the point I consider not even going back for it. Please give some advice on how to prep for this thing.
