  1. Where I work in a LTC....there are LPN's that have been there 2-3 yrs and just got their RN and are having to take a pay cut as new RN's
  2. Water temp has NOTHING to do with antiseptic hand washing as per the CD ...it ALL has to do with the soap and TIME you actually wash your hands...just FYI

Have you always remembered to send a thank you letter.....I know that I missed out on a few positions from not sending them and the people that got the positions did send theirs....also some places will allow you to do extern ships or job shadowing and that is a good way to get to know the employees and they can vouch for you(how I got my job and I just graduated last night)

I have not read all the replies to this thread....but as an ex-paramedic for 8 yrs and as a LPN....I can say....BY LAW NURSES HAVE NO...NO jurisdiction outside of the facility they work in....meaning as nurses we cannot override any prehospital personnel...PERIOD...the only person that can do that is a Doctor...period...so it does not matter that the nurse has worked in the ER for 30 yrs or blah blah blah....outside of the hospital/clinic/dr's office/etc...that nurse is nothing more than a bystander and legally a liability if they decide to do ANY care just my

I don't disregard that spelling can lead to mistakes...but then that is also where we as Nurses need to be questioning why a pt is receiving a certain drug or treatment for their condition since we are the number one pt advocate correct:coollook: And I also felt this thread needed some levity added to it:D

  11. Since I was a Paramedic for 8 years....I have decided not to do ED....but at present my goal is to become a CRNA so OR is really where I shall fall
  12. as an ex PARAMEDIC(Associate degree with OVER 200 hours more than an ADN RN..)and as a nursing student(returning after 20 yrs) I feel I am able to reply......most Nursing homes I have been to regard us (EMT'Ps) as below CRNA's even thouth I have had MORE TRAINING THAN THEY HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........I am DISGUSTED with the treatmement that ENT/EMTP rcv from maily LVN/LPN(whom are REALLY INFERIOR to us training wise)........this is coming from a LPN STUDENT/ASD(assocaite in Paramedicine)
  13. I was a Pizza chain manager, then a Paramedic, back to Pizza as an area supervisor, then a truck driver, now back to becoming a LPN enroute to my RN:yeah:
