  1. I liked it! Extremely affordable, but alot of work. Of course there were complaints as such with any program, but I did just fine. As I've always told others, you get out of a program what you put in! I did extra research outside of the program, so felt very knowledgeable once I graduated.
  2. Glad to see this thread active again! I graduated in September 2022, took the ANCC exam 2 weeks later & passed ? Starting the Clinical DNP this Fall at Yale!
  3. Thanks for stepping in! I've been on Allnurses for years and sadly I still witness the same judgment & divisiveness that led me to limit my time on this website years ago. It's still unbelievable to me that students can't post about their school without the same ole negative Nancy's & judgy posters putting down a person's choice of school when they've had absolutely no personal experience going to the school. I created this post to discuss a viable option for those who were looking for a very reasonably priced and well-rounded program and wanted to know from someone who attended this program first hand. I can't count the extreme numbers of posts across this forum from people putting down other's programs and nothing is ever done about it. From first-hand experience, this program is no joke. It is difficult and more strict than numerous programs that I've heard about from students attending different schools including brick & mortars. Just stop judging just because you haven't heard about a program or because it's online (as are many of the programs these days). Life and technology evolves; people in this forum need to evolve as well.
  4. I used the APEA Qbank. I purchased all 4 sections for FNP & did 100 or more questions a day really paying attention to the rationales.
  5. Hi Edward! I think we just accepted you to the ASU fb forum, so welcome! Yes, once you complete the 3p's you'll need to pass APEA.
  6. Whoaaaa I didn't pay anywhere near $45k. In fact it was half that. Did tuition increase LOL?
  7. I'm finishing up Policy. Next is Research, then l'll be starting my NP courses!
  8. Sorry for the late reply. It's somewhat harder, but mainly alot more work & definitely more tedious. And as you proceed, some of the profs grade really strict. Yes the exam was difficult even after taking the 3P's. I bought all 4 sections of the APEA Qbank and did 100-200 questions a day- reading the rationales for each question really help you to understand more. The "Management" section is most like the exam (to me).
  9. I'm good! I'll be in my 5th class (Policy) on Jan 18th. I was just in that class, but had to drop it due some outrageous work demands & falling behind. My prof for that class is brutal so you need to be on point LOL.
  10. Congrats to everyone starting this month! Head over to the fb group American Sentinel FNP/AGNP/PMHNP...everyone's been pretty busy lately, but it's still a very active group.
  11. I go to American Sentinel University & they now offer the PMHNP.
  12. No problem at all- anytime! You stay safe too ?
  13. No problem! I'm not sure if it's open book or not. I haven't taken Advanced Physical Assessment yet (I'm in Advanced Role Development and Organizational Leadership right now), but I do know that you use Shadow Health for that. After you finish the 3Ps, you have to take the APEA 3P exam and pass to proceed in the program.
  14. Yes, for proctored exams you'll take them on your computer with a webcam and software program for some classes ?
  15. I would 100% recommend the program. And they have a scholarship if you've been a nurse for at least 10 years, you get $100 per credit reduced tuition for the life of the program which is thousands in savings on top of an already affordable program! I don't have any info on the pass rate but I'm sure you can ask them. Feel free to message me ?
  16. Hi! Nope, I don't believe there are any on-site intensives at all. And for your other question, the Advanced Practice Nursing 1-3 is NOT concurrent with the practicum courses, which I love! You do Advanced Practice 1 by itself, then the next term you do Advanced Practice Clinicals.
  17. No problem at all! Good luck ?
  18. I learned a long time ago to ignore people OES, especially on this forum. I've been on here a long time, and I've never seen as much snobiness as I've witnessed when coming to this forum. Believe me, there's alot of them on here- it's not really the most supportive forum to be on but it does have it's positives and there are some really nice and supportive folks here. Do what's best for you and get the most out of your program no matter where you choose to go!!
  19. Thankfully, I have thick skin so other's opinions cease to bother me LOL. Just finished my first class and wasn't that different from the competitive program for my BSN at UIC. It was ALOT of work, alot of studying and many late nights like any other class I've taken and my degree will cost at least 1/2 what most other programs cost. You get out of it what you put in. To each his own. Have a blessed day!
  20. Hi Residentmaid! I really like it so far. I complete my 1st class next week. You're on your own for clinicals as you are with most schools, but clinicals don't begin until about a year after you start. They give you suggestions where to look (there's even a couple of websites where you can get preceptors for a fee). And the tuition & payment plan can't be beat!
  21. I know this is an older thread but thought I'd comment in case anyone was looking for information about American Sentinel. They are now regionally accredited
  22. So far so good! I'm in my first class- Advanced Patho...the 1st class of the program, Advanced Role Development and Organizational Leadership only runs every odd month, so I had to start with Patho. The terms are 8 weeks each, you're not allowed to double up or overlap, but I'm fine concentrating on 1 course at a time- it's do-able with my busy schedule. And it's affordable. Like $23,0000 for the program/$27,000 total with ALL fees and charges included. There's a couple of ways to pay- there's a plan at about $425/month, another for $500/month or they also take financial aid. Also- as long as you stay on schedule with the payment plan and don't default, they give you your transcripts and everything once you graduate even if you're not done paying for the program when you're through.
  23. Hi! I just started American Sentinel earlier this month and I love the 8 week format. I'm currently in Advanced Patho. Yeah it's a lot to go over, but totally do-able for those who work full time. I'm still able to supplement my learning with additional reading and learning on my own. It does take longer to graduate from this program because they don't allow you to double up or overlap classes, but I like it this way...only one class to concentrate on at a time!
  24. @Sleepwalker- so sorry, I just re-read your post & I misunderstood! I see what you were asking now. Yes, I wonder that too...I just thought about it & I don't think a non-physician provider who's not an NP can own a medspa in any state. Sorry again, I need to read better lol.
  25. I guess I was responding to the very first sentence she wrote where she states that she is considering going back for an NP (which is a non-physician/non-physician provider). I took that to mean that she was wanting to be an NP to reduce the need for MD intervention so I was merely stating that that could be a viable option depending on the state she's in. I really don't understand this forum sometimes...So much snippiness at times...
