  1. Hello to everyone!! I am on my 3rd week of preceptorship in L & D and so far, so good. Can anyone offer some words of wisdom for me. Anything you would have done differently when you first started. I would love to hear from anyone. Thanks.:loveya:
  2. I took the ati and received a 97% chance of passing. I passed nclex with 75 questions. Some questions are comparable to ati but the more difficult questions are compareable to Kaplan. We had to buy the virtual ati and i did not like it. I purchased the hurst review and loved it for content review. So many topics she discussed came out on my nclex. I also did kaplan and saunders to practice questions
  3. Did anyone get easy questions towards the end??? My last question was a SATA. Scared. i also had 75 questions and I fell like some of the easier ones I had I got wrong. Im freakin out.
  4. I feel soooo sick. My computer shut off at 75 questions. I spent 2 1/2 hours. I had maybe 10 to 15 sata, 1 med calculation and the rest multiple choice. Mostly priority and a very few delegation. I had some easy questions and that worries me. Like What are S & S of this disease. and I feel like I got those easy ones wrong. My test ended with some of those type of questions. Is that bad. I know at some point I was in higher level questions, but I ended with those easy ones. It scares the crap out of me. Any insight? I am soo sad, because I feel in my heart, I did not pass.
  5. Thanks!!! I know I can do it. I will be a REGISTERED NURSE MONDAY JUNE 16, 2008. you all are making me feel so much better. Thanks.
  6. Do you think its more the anxiety that gets people. I seriously want to try and go in with that same attitude. Relaxed and calm. I also did Kaplan, Hurst and ATI. I did Kaplan Q trainer. Do you think those are similare to the same style as NCLEX?
  7. Good Luck to you!! Let me know how you do and I will post as soon as finish mine.
  8. Yes, we always knew what topics were going to be on the test. And I could always tell how I was going to do by the first question. If I knew the answer, it was not going to be difficult. If I didnt, I was screwed. How I soooo wish I was studying for a test from school. LOL!!! I guess nothing great comes easy!!:loveya:
  9. I like the idea of thinking its just practice.
  10. Thank you all sooooo much for your comments. You have made me feel more at ease. I am going to try my hardest not to worry. And i will let you know how I do. Please send good vibes and prayers my way. Thank you all. I am here for you if you all ever need anything. :redpinkhe
  11. I'm sorry,I take my test Monday and I am soooo freakin out. I feel like I dont know everything I need to know. I feel like I should go over more meds, labs, procedures. I dont know. I have soooo much anxiety that im hoping it doesnt effect me test day. Please anyone, should I feel this way?? Should I stop worrying, because whatever happens... happens.? This past week I havent been able to sleep at night. Can anyone make me feel better please!!!! Should I be stressing so much?
  12. Congratulations!!!!! Thank you soooo much for comenting on your experience. I bought the hurst review and started reading the postings about Kaplan. I couldnt afford the question bank, but i bought the book and have the question trainer. I have been using Hurst for content review. I am soooo glad I did. Ive been working with it and not that I feel over confident, but I not as scared as I was. I hope the question trainer is enough and the two tests that the book came with. Ive been using the process of elimination and reviewing the strategies. Thanks.
  13. Selby Congratulations!!!!
  14. Selby, do you feel like the Kaplan q's were similar to the NCLEX?
  15. Im a little bit crazy and tend to overcompensate for everything. But for some reason I bought ATI, Hurst and bought the Kaplan book. I watch hurst and do the focused test on ATI and Saunders. Review whatever I missed. Then I'll do questions from the qtrainer. Im just reviewing what I can. I really liked the Kaplan book because of the strategies and I keep hearing the questions are similar to NCLEX. Hurst is also really good for content review. Good enough for me. I just hope it helps. Taking my test June 16.
  16. Hey Nicole, I was working on Maternity today tooo! When do you take your NCLEX??
  17. withdrawl symptoms: amphetamine= depression, disturbed sleep, restlessness , disorientation barbituates= nausea & vomiting, seizures, course tremors, tachy:redbeathe cocaine= sever cravings, drpression:sniff:, hypersomnia, fatigue heroin= runny nose, yawning, fever, muscle & joint pain, diarrhea (remember flu like symptoms) what do you all think about starting a "fact throwing" for pharm?????
  18. I take my test next Monday, June 16. I too keep trying to give myself positive affirmations. Every night before I go to sleep, I tell myself, I will be a Registered Nurse Jan. 16th after I am done with my test. And I keep trying to imagine myself being relaxed when Im taking my test. Im hoping I will get in the same test taking mode, that I would usually get into in nursing school, once I start taking a test. You know that feeling of being really nervous, but once you get into the test, your focused. I have been doing the hurst review by sections. Once I review a certain section, I ll do a focused test from ATI, like resp. or cardiac. Then, Ill do the questions from Saunders and review whatever I got wrong. I also started reading the Kaplan book, which I am finding so helpful. WOW!!! It really helps when your stuck and you need to narrow down the answer. Im surprised. So, my plan is for this week is do questions and apply the strategies ive learned from Kaplan and Hurst. Friday, will be my last day to study. Im thinking of also going over Saunders Medication sections each day and trying to make sure I memorize my labs. I know most of them, just to refresh on the not so common ones. I dont know, is this too much. I love what racing mom said about reminding yourself how far you have come. How someone else would love to be in our place. It is sooo true. Thanks for the reminder. Good Luck to everyone taking the test this month. My blessing to you all.
  19. Q#1 67 Q#2 61 Q#3 60 ARe these grades ok. Im not doing any better. These questions are whoppers. Wow. Well I bought the book today. Did the book help anyone??
  20. I really needed to hear that.
  21. Im doing hurst online right now and so far so good. Im viewing the online sections and trying to apply the information by doing questions from either sauders, ati or NCLEX Review and Rational book. :)
  22. Thank you soooo much for your information. Im just scared. I am also doing the online Hurst and I really find it helpful. I do have to turn my thinking around. I take my test June 16th. I will keep you all posted.
  23. I keep hearing that the questions you get on NCLEX, that are higher level, are nothing like what your studying. That most of them have nothing to do with the content youve been reviewing. Is that true? I know its probably different for everyone.
  24. Im also signed on to the virtual ATI and not finding it helpful. I just registered with the Hurst review today to see what I get out of that.
  25. Hello everyone!!! Are you ready? I scheduled my test yesterday for June 16th. I am freakin out already. I was doing the virtual ATI, but I dont like it. I signed in with the Hurst Review and find it to be very helpful so far. Im doing it online. Good Luck to everyone who is taking it soon.:wink2:
