  1. Hi all! Did anyone have experience with either of these online programs? Pros/Cons? Been accepted into both and need to make a decision. Appreciate any input!
  2. Following. Also interested in any experience others would like to share. Thank you!!
  3. Or sign half of an R before I realize it.....:)
  4. I might get this embroidered on all my scrubs!! lol
  5. Deescalating an aggressive paranoid schizophrenic with words. I have been told by my MHT's that I am a "crazy whisperer".
  6. I have worked in LTC, sub-acute and now psych. I greatly enjoy psych but sometimes miss the some of the other aspects of nursing that psych does not involve. Good luck to you!
  7. Agreed Nurse.Steph. These were some pretty brutal statements. A psych pt has a very hard life to cope with and are deserving of respect.
  8. I have gone to school to long to play in poop, so I don't. I love nursing and would do it all again. Money is great and have job security. NOBODY has ever asked for my GPA during an interview. The only concern has been a clear license and a heartbeat.
  9. They are going okay..........busy. Papers are coming along. A in one class, B in another.
  10. If you are familiar with it you'll be fine. I lost points on stupid mistakes I didn't even realize I was making. Aug. 30th will be here before ya know it.
  11. soc 350 is an e book that you download and the two books for the other I bought at amazon cheaper than at the book store. You will use all books for the classes. I am struggling with soc because I had never written an APA style paper before and it takes getting used to.
  12. Yes you can but you should also try for pell grants and such. Try it for a semester and see. LMK what classes you get and we could talk about them.
  13. Yes I think its possible but will leave minimal amounts of time left over. You can still do vacations....as long as you have internet access. I do it working 2 12's and a rather large family.
  14. It is very fast paced. Learn APA style right away, like before you start. I am at the "I think I like it" stage. I need to become more comfortable with it and everything will be fine.
  15. Same here.
  16. Called today........HUB will not be open til Friday and fixed MyScribe with IT. Now reading the first couple of chapters in both classes.
  17. I also start on the 5th. Doing the soc and a nursing class. Got books today in the mail and started setting up my accounts. Did you have any issues login on to the hub or myscribe?
  18. I bought a CLEP book to use for Sociology when I finish with micro. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks!!
  19. You could buy a CN study guide on ebay, take the test and see what you think. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy another. Once you join CN it is a done deal. I like CN and have been on track as far as where I want to be for the most part. About a week behind and am hoping to make that up with the next test. Money wise I think that the price is about the same if you buy all the suggested books from Excelsior for each test or if you joined a publishing company.
