  1. Of course mostly you never want to be useless to your kids, you cannot get those years back, I hope you can find someone to watch them in your home while you sleep.
  2. Sorry for the typos.
  3. Yes, what dept. do you work in? Maybe that is the big issue. O hear Hospice is low key, perhaps goinf to school and getting your masters? Maybe you would like to teach?
  4. Please someone answer this.

Preach it! Sick of it too, 60 percent of our patients are ETOHrs! Sick of it!
  6. Put alum foil on the windows.... works great!
  7. Thx! Unfortunately our facility is lacking in protocols.
  8. Sorry about the spelling mistakes.
  9. Stay up every night. Drink smoothies after 11:00 p.m, it helps with digestions problems because of the time reverse, and dring at least 2 L of water. Stay away from Mtn. Dew and sugar, it will end ya. Cofee is good when warranted instead of soft drinks... Melatonin, Benadryl or Doccylamine sucinate(sp?) is good for sleep.
  10. Anyone?
  11. Could you post that formula?
  12. Just remember to think about your family, especially if your kids are under the age of 18.... before you travel, you can't get those years back, and they won't forget it either. As far as mean people at work, they are everywhere. Personally, I think it depends on where you live and if the people are happy with themselves and their work. If not, they are miserable and will make you miserable.
  13. In these disorders with the blood sugar, is it possible to bring the BG down too fast? I had a patient come in at 0800 with a BG of 825. By 17:30 he was down to 186. Is this okay? His drip was titrated anywhere from 10-20 units/per hour.
  14. Would love any information on Rockdale medical center in Conyers, especially the ICU or Tele floor.

Where are the fascicles? Are they apart of the Bundle Branch? I don't understand, please help.
  16. Yeah, Metoprolol is a very effective Beta blocker, and 50mg was a high dose for that poor hypotensive patient. Another drug to beware of giving to pateints with active hypotensive issues is Coreg. Cardizem drips merit attention as well b/c they will drop your pressure. Digoxin is a better choice because it doesn't affect the blood pressure, but will lower your heart rate. The M.D. should have known that.
  17. Mckesson is a nightmare, look into Siemens' products.
  18. I guess I should've done it in private. I am just so sick of being stepped on all of the time, having someone answer questions that I am capable of answering, and the like so they can be a "star", I just get sick of it.
  19. Good point, I might have been fueled by the fact that she announced to everyone that although I came in 2nd , in scanning meds, I did horribly scanning all pt. bracelets.
  20. So, I have been a nurse for 4 years, mostly Tele experience. I am orienting now to a small ICU department. Because of the huge turnover in nursing staff, the main one orienting me, has not even been a nurse for 2 years, but has almost a year ICU experience. She is loud, talks over me, and treats me like I don't even know when my patient needs a Foley or Telemetry. I mentioned this in a recent staff meeting and she was angry, and stated, " we can talk about this when we work together again" I wanted to talk about it then, at the staff meeting. My manager just hushed me, and treated me like a little girl that just can't handle be under someone, with more "ICU experience". I'm thinking of transferring, what do you guys think?
