  1. Hello All, (and to Loved and Suzanne) just updating, that although my Green Card was approved in Dec07, my spouse and kids are still awaiting the Green Card. There has been No news, nothing ... Loved, your case was similar to mine, whats the latest at yr end? I am still holding onto my " belief " that if my GC was approved, then the Visa numbers were also blocked for my family members. With the latest News about FBI checks pending >180 days , I am just hoping that USCIS would process and approve GC for family members. Any thoughts or insights would greatly help, pls. ART
  2. Hello Suzanne4 and Loved, just updating that it has been a month (issued Sept-15) since I got my GC (via AOS) and my spouse did not recieve it yet. I am still with an understanding that, if they approved the GC for me then they also wld have blocked for my family too. Is this Not correct? Loved, you are in a similar situation as mine. Any news that you can update, pls. Thanks, and God Bless ART
  3. Hello Loved, Yes we will keep the progress updated. Hope all goes well on GC for our families. Thanks, ART
  4. We are from India and I was on H4 when the petition was filed. I studied and completed my BSN in US. My spouse is still awaiting news on his GC. No change in status, still shows 'Under process' Thanks, Art
  5. Thank you Suzanne, comments/thoughts from you brings lot of comfort.
  6. Hello All, I am so excited to share the News. Today I recd in mail, the Green Card for myself valid for 10 years. My I-140/I-485 filed concurrently at NSC (for me and family) had a priority date of Apr-3, 2006. My I-140 was approved in Dec-2006, and my I-485/Green Card recd today. The only thing that bothers me now is that the USCIS on-line status for my spouse has not changed, and my spouse's processing still shows under process/pending. Our papers were filed together. Is this anything of concern? or is it that available Visas have exhausted? Pls pls respond if anybody has any insights to this situation. Thanks, and God Bless. Art
  7. Deal All, My EAD is expiring on May 20. I have already applied for its extension (NSC center) in March and awaiting its approval. My question is can I continue to work while my EAD extn is pending approval? My attorney says I can but I hear conflicting statements from others....pls advise as I am concerned and do not want to do anything that would jeopardize my status in US. Appreciate any info/advise. Thanks, ART - RN, BSN
  8. I-140 and I-485 Receipt Date: April 1,2006 I-140 and I-485 Notice Date: April 04, 2006 Service Center: Nebraska Biometrics: May 23, 2006 I-140: ? I-485: ?
  9. Hello Dolly, In my opinion you need to first pass the NCLEX. Based on this normally the employer would hire you by means of filing I-140/I-485 concurrently. While these get processed, you should have parallely started completing the Visa Screen certificate rqmnts so that this is available in time for your I-485 final adjudication. Look for Suzanne's further response/advise on this as well as she is the best on this forum. Good luck.
  10. service center: nsc (nebraska) i-140/i-485/ead/ap rd: 04/03/2006 nd:04/04/2006 fp/biometrics code 3 done: 5/23/2006 ead: ? i-140: ? i-485: ? card rcvd: ?
  11. hello Pink Blush, congrats on yr I-140 approval. You will only become permanent resident once your I-485 gets approved. Since you say, you are already in US and working (probably using EAD), you should either get an interview call or should get the 'green card' in the mail. Interviews are called randomly (I believe). So, in my opinion you will keep working on EAD (and may have to extend EAD till you physically recieve the Green card, that is, I-485 approval.)
  12. Hello everyone, Finally my attorney filed I140/485 concurrently with NSC. The receipt notice for I140 states "Immigrant petition for Alien Worker" section: Skilled worker or Professional, Sec.203 (b)(3)(A)(i) or (ii). The question I have is that my I-140 receipt notice DOES NOT mention anywhere about Schedule A for Nurses. Would anybody help ADVISE looking at your I-140 what it states? does it state Schedule A or does the Sec mentioned is SAME for you all? Any help would greatly releif my anxiety. Thanks a Ton. ART
  13. here's the most current info: http://www.immigration-law.com/ [color=#3c0077]03/16/2006: [color=#400080]dos predicts retrogression of schedule a visa (ex) numbers in first quarter of fy 2007 (10/01/06-12/31/06) [color=#400080]aila has reported that there remains 20,000 number for this fy 2006 and ex will remain current until september 30, 2006. however, the state department intends to set a cut-off date for schedule a visa category of ex in the first quarter of fy 2007. retrogression will be no longer other immigrant categories' agony at the end of this year unless the congress acts!! [color=#400080]no one knows how steep the retrogression will be. schedule a retrogression will result in three consequences, among others: (1) those schedule a waiting for 485 application decision will face delays in the green card application after the retrogression and until the visa number becomes available again. (2) schedule a concurrent i-140 and i-485 filing will be not available during the period of retrogression. only stand-alone i-140 petition will be available during the retrogression. (3) eb-3 will experience added pressure in terms of the available visa numbers. [color=#400080]those who are working on the schedule a cases should accelerate the "concurent" filing such that at least they can take advantage of ead and advance parole during the retrogression. [color=#400080]senator brownback's amendment to the specter mark for the comprehensive immigration reform bill to make schedule a cases visa quota exempt immigration category becomes more important and allied healthcare industry should lobby hard to get this amendment passed at the senate!
  14. Hello Vaheguru, the equivqlent of q birth certificate is a "notarized document' from your parents or Uncle/aunt. There is a spcific format which I do not have it handy but you can google search for it. By the way you wld also need your marriage certificate, if married. Good Luck ! ART
  15. Thanks so much Suzanne. I have been yearning to hear from you !! So the proof would be the mail I will be recieving of my NCLEX passing, correct? if Yes, should I send this passing result to CGFNS/ICHP or will this be sent by BON-Tx. I read from your earlier threads that VSC is not reqd at the time of concurrent filing of I-140/485/765, but reqd by the time AOS is adjudicted (couple months say). Will this be safe?? I am just hoping that visas would be available and will not get exhausted (schedule A). I am looking for few attorneys and any info wld be much appreciated. Art
  16. Hello All, I took my NCLEX and I passed. I had 75 questions mostly from priority and couple from pharm, psych, maternity. None from PEDI. It was hard and tricky, I was never sure till I saw my passing results. How long will it take to get the result by mail (saw my results on web). Thanks for any info and congrats to ALL who made it and GOOD LUCK to those who will be taking NCLEX. Art
  17. Greetings to All, I am new to this site and have this short story of my own to share. I am from an IT background (8yrs) and my love for Nursing made me change my career all together. Went to US school, completed all prerequisites and finished my BSN in Dec05, appeared for NCLEX-RN on Jan-24 saw my result on web Jan-26 and I passed. I am a blessed RN now. I have a job offer on hand from a Hospital and would need guidance: 1) Already started VSC process and all my Nursing transcripts are submitted to CGFNS/ICHP. I am still awaiting confirmation by mail of NCLEX result. Will I be given a License?? I ask bcoz I do not have a SSN# but I am legally in US (H4 status) 2) BON-Tx, will they give me a letter of eligibility for License and will this be accepted by VSC - CGFNS/ICHP?? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated. Its been a long haul for me but absolutely worth it. Happy Nursing !! ART
