If you already have a BS in Biology than the nursing degree you are going for would be a second bachelor's. Is this what you're doing? If so, generally the two bachelor's degree each have their own gpa. You start out with a new gpa for your second bachelors. I don't know if that matters to CRNA schools though but that may be something you might want to consider when crunching the numbers and planning everything.

Just remember to have respect. What I mean is if it was your dead body there in front of you (God forbid), how would you want the body handled? I assume you would want it to be done properly. Death is part of life so just continue proper care knowing that you are doing the right thing.

I could be a teller right out of high school and make $12/hr starting with full benefits. $11 an hour, ya right.

I doubt the nursing program needs to know the details. Take care of it through the health center at your school and once they clear it, it should be fine. I think the nursing program only cares if they receive the "okay" from the health center.

At my school the generic nursing program (BSN) is the regualr program (6 semesters 2 semesters a year). Every other program in the nursing department isn't generic nursing. For instance, we have a accelerated BSN which consists of the same exact courses, clinical hours, etc...but it is only a 14 month program and so it is not the generic BSN, it's the accelerated BSN. The point I was trying to make is I would not respect a person if they are being disrespectful to me. If someone told me to get some "testes" and become a EMT or a doctor then, no, I would not have respect for that person. I would keep my cool and I would not lash out at that person but I would have ZERO respect for that person. And, sure, I agree that we have all lashed out at the wrong time, person, in the wrong place, etc..., but the fact still remains that it is wrong thing do that and I think you would agree with me on that. And since you use that line, "by the grace of G-d", wouldn't God tell you to be keep your cool and not lash out and be disrespectful, especially in this situation where some lady who should know better with all her life experience decided to be the bad guy?

It doesn't matter what their age is. If they want respect they need to be respectful also. And wouldn't it make more sense for an elderly person who having gone through a long life would have a better understanding of that concept instead of the exact opposite of being respectful? It doesn't matter what changes she is going through.

It's kind of off the subject but one interesting topic we went over in my econ class was crime rates. You're right that the 3 strikes law has caused a decrease in crime but not by much. The biggest reason? Abortion. Because of Roe vs. Wade abortion became legalized and because many kids get aborted, it has lead to a huge decrease in crime that was felt during the 90s. Interesting huh.

I first saw the new in the morning and then realized what was really happening in my 12th grade English class. The teacher cancelled the lecture and activities for the day and we just watched the news in class. I can't believe it's been five years already!

It doesn't matter if the enforcement isn't top notch. The fact is it is illegal to cross the border and those illegals know that. That is why they sometimes hire coyotes, dig tunnels, etc... Just because the enforcement sucks doesn't mean they have a free invitation to the "party". And to be technical, there is a lot of enforcement, just not enough. And it doesn't matter what kind of examples you give because I could turn around and do the same: If it's illegal to go into someones house without permission, but the door is open and the police don't enforce that law then I'm sure you wouldn't mind all the people coming into your home?

Last I checked it was illegal to cross the border without permission. The door isn't open, the door is closed but many illegal immigrants decide to open the door one way or another. And just because the door is open doesn't mean you give another person the right to enter.

If your looking for support you have mine. But I would suggest that you disregard all of the negative things people are telling you. You have the support of your family so there is no need to get support from anyone else even though it would be nice for your classmates and coworkers to also show their support. Plus, a lot of those people who tell you that going to med school will take forever, it will be too hard, you won't have time for your kids, etc...are saying these things based on themselves. They think that it's too hard to do, so they assume the same about you and they possibly think that they are giving you "good" advice.

It's not at all uncomfortable. Most of us are friends who have known each other in other classes like Anatomy, Physiology, Chem, etc...so going into the nursing classes I already knew many of the women in the class so everything was just fine. Plus there are some guys in the class so I'm not completely outnumbered. The biggest problem is becoming one of the "girls". I still have to remind myself that I need to act like me and not get too assimilated in that manner.
