  1. That's a BS schedule. Not everybody can handle that. Please don't feel bad at all. If it's giving you a hard time now, I recommend leaving. Your health and sanity is worth more than any job.
  2. Would anyone recommend some good matches of nursing jobs for people over 60 years old? Specifically, some things to do that are not so physically demanding. Thanks.
  3. Any follow up news?
  4. I agree. That was an extremely rude and crude thing to do to a coworker. Did you both do walking rounds and check the lines before the hand off? That usually helps to catch things like this.
  5. There is way too much left out of this story for an outsider to really grasp what really happened.
  6. Hi, I certainly can relate to being misunderstood by other students in school, when we are of different ethnicity. Often, the best thing for me was to be rather neutral about everything. Since, that seems to be too late for you, unfortunately, I would have to weigh my options. How much more time do you have to go in the program? If it's just a little bit I would just grin and bear it. If it's a lot more time left in the program I would strongly consider, changing semesters/ classmates. I do wish you all the best either way. (Yes, I'm Asian)
  7. I would leave and not look back
  8. Hello, after reading your post I felt like I just had to reply. While I haven't been in exactly the same situation you are describing, I could relate to a lot of the issues you were bringing up personally. Issues of fear, questioning your identity and where you fit in. I think a big part of moving forward is who and what you surround yourself with. Please think about the idea of joining a group of positive, motivated folks outside of nursing, who welcome you as you are.
  9. It's good that you recognized a toxic workplace and chose not to participate. There are other opportunities out there for you, for sure.
  10. I'm not sure if I want to get angry at someone trying the best they can to pay their bills.
  11. Aesopian replied to cepr4's topic in General Nursing
That rapid team person needs to go pound sand. Total Jerk.
  12. One of the biggest things any resident, DON or CNA can do to boost morale is to say "Thank you!" to other coworkers.
