  1. We think alike on this one! I’ll definitely get in the habit of doing this.
  2. Thank y’all for these examples. It’s been really eye opening to think how we really need to be careful with our words and make sure our patient/client understands the directions. The orange one really made me laugh though. Same with the one eating lady partsl cream. Stay safe!
  3. No assignment here. Honestly, just curious about other experiences. I’ve read quite a few examples and watched a few videos and was blown away at what I learned. No trying to get an advantage here other than learn from others experience! thanks for sharing!
  4. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could take the time and share with me an experience where they encountered a client/patient that had a low health literacy and or cultural difference that needed to be addressed. What was the topic they didn’t understand or what was the cultural difference you worked through. I am amazed that I never really took a second to even think about this topic until taking a health literacy course. I heard examples of people signing consent forms and waking up missing a part. I also heard one about overdosing pills because they didn’t understand the label (as needed). Thanks again for reading. Cannot wait to hear your stories.
  5. Is that expanding band something extra or the type of watch come with that band?
  6. Hello folks! I am curious as to what kind of timekeeping device you use that has a second hand? I’m old fashioned and rocking a pocket watch but it’s getting in the way and looking for a scrub mounted or light wrist watch? Thanks in advance and don’t forget to be awesome!
  7. I agree. I’m from old Alabama as well. Where I live most people here think it’s some conspiracy made up and that it doesn’t even exist. That people aren’t dying from COVID it’s the pneumonia or this or that, that kills them. It’s embarrassing I feel so bad for them but angry that it puts me and my family at risk because of their blatant stubborn ignorance.
  8. Thank you for sharing! I can understand that frustration. That’s something I’m afraid of. Our clinical hour totals are almost all med-surg with maybe a day or two in a few other areas thanks to the pandemic. STUPID COVID! I hope it works out for you.
  9. The worst part I imagine about this version is, as he’s says finally that’s when the meds kick in and your under! LOL
  10. I have read so many of your posts and love reading your advice. I’m a fan! It’s so good to be able to know what will need to be done in the future. What to do, what not to do. What to have, what not to have. Especially what not to worry about as it will be included in certain orientations or provided by the hospital. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
  11. Hello, Looking to see if anyone has participated in this joint ADN - BSN program. I’m starting Fall 2021.
  12. Hello, I’m curious to know if you knew what path you wanted to take or if your mind was changed while studying/practicing. How and what was it that clicked and said this is the field of nursing I want to be in? How many of you have been in the same specialty? Please share your story or experience.
