  1. When I was a tech in the Er and cleaning up I&D trays I almost got stuck with a needle. The docs are not suppose to leave any sharps in the room, the charge went and found him and made him go clean it up.
  2. If you go to Parkland, you will see a little bit of everything. I would think as long as you are a competent nurse with good recommendations you would be able to transition into any ER after your contract is through. Good luck.
  3. I have lucked out in the town I am in as far as family. Most of the people at my facilty are happy with the care and the rare few that we do get that seem to be unhappy can usually be calmed down- and then talk to you about what is going on. I am not hesistent to ask them what I can do to make this whole experience better for them- usually they will tell me, and after that everything is usually smooth going.
  4. Our hospital puts MRSA in isolation still, I have heard other hospitals are not even treating this anymore because it is so common. Is this true?
  5. I looked over the NCLEX kaplan book for maybe 2 days. Did not do much more than that. I was also very sick of studying. I do not recommend doing what I did either. Most of my friends studied for over a month.
  6. I also have a wide foot and New Balance by far is the best for me. I have tried every major brand out there and always go back to those.
  7. I engraved my full name with credentials after them. It has been useful when others have borrowed it, it always comes back to me.
  8. my friend just got her results this morning, exactly 48 hours from the time she left the test. I think it is on a time or something. Good luck!!!
  9. I am not the best test taker either. I only studied for the NCLEX for 3 days and found that the Kaplan Exam book and CD were the most helpful. I read it twice and the info is great! I passed the boards with 75 questions. I have recommended that book to everyone- the rules are good to follow. Good Luck!!!:roll :roll :roll
