Did I cause my patient to die faster?
i hate to work with those kinds of nurses giving people hard time. it's time to turn her every minute not just every 2 hours....

Interesting article about "diploma mills"
you can not use these fake documents anymore, even if someone buys it, agencies have their way of knowing if it's real or not. In the Phils. agencies verify the documents like license, OTR & diploma through gov't agencies like the PRC, DFA & CHED they will authenticate it and these are the requirement before applying abroad. And before hiring someone the agency will verify your certificate of employment by calling the hospital where you've previously or currently working, they will even call the supervisor or head nurse in your department. anyone can also verify license online by going to the professional regulation commission website. before a filipino can work abroad, they will have to undergo strict evaluation on their credentials first.

the american dream: do not lose hope
thanks hushdawg for that message most posts that i've read so far here are belittling us who graduated/nurses here in P.I. Its nice for an american to stand for us Filipinos. As far as nurses who just came in the u.s, give them time to adjust to a new culture, language & technology, try being a nurse here & you'll understand how it feels. In a hospital here, we do everything from meds, nsg procedures to cleaning & changing diapers to changing linens to 8 or more patients for a single RN. I believed we are qualified to work in the u.s because we passed all the exams & while waiting for our visas patiently we are working as nurses here. I understand why most of the readers here dont like RNs coming from here to work in the u.s- they thought we are taking jobs away from them. But as a Filipino we welcome all not only americans to come & to work here, to share your knowledge & still be grateful.

the american dream: do not lose hope
besides not all who graduated from the PI will be all going to the u.s.a. visas are moving very slow but it is still moving, and there will be always hope 4 us. there are lots of rn jobs in other countries, its just that most of us have lots of relatives in the US thats why we prefer 2 go there. it will be more faster route than family based visas.

How do you think the New US President will affect Retrogression?
there are lots of priorities to be done first - their economy, secure borders & other stuffs but its nice to know that obama is pro immigration, he wants additional family based & skilled workers visas.

Saudi Arabia needs 2,000 nurses from the Philippines
maybe its because it is easy to apply in k.s.a than in other countries. the requirements needed is that one should be a registered nurse, hospital experience which is 2-3 yrs, other hospitals dont require any experience at all,& an exam in ministry of health. lots of filipino nurses are working as a staff nurse there.

H2B Visa
i've seen it also and i've been in their orientations but i think it is H1b, they require at least 2 yrs of hosp.expirience in a special area, and they are non-cap, and you'll be working in a well known hosp.in u.s.

Passed Local Board and IELTS. what's next?
either you pass or fail the nclex exam, you should go back to the Philippines after 6 mos.of staying in the u.s. you can get a sponsor but you have to back and wait until your p.d becomes current. while waiting you can apply as a staff nurse in the phil.and you have to take ielts exam. gain some hospital expirience first then you can apply to other countries. :paw::paw:
