  1. Well, you are the first line of patient advocacy. Only you can deal with Christian politicians. After all, nursing is not only about patient care (although it should be so), is it? Politics also infiltrates in this field.
  2. Well, Christian politicians are powerful, and there are many of them in the White House. I feel like the war against Covid vaccine just begins. Now with Delta variant, it is difficult to predict what the future will hold.
  3. Absolutely not. I trust efficacy of Covid vaccine, but I also believe in freedom of conscience. We have to take care of our own health after all. We cannot rely on other people's compliance for our well-being. Shaming them into vaccination is not a way to go.
  4. I am happy for your mother. Again and again, when Christianity is fused in evidence-based health science, everything gets messed up. Hopefully residents in Tennessee will find a way to combat this theocratic medicine.
  5. I don't think that a state that is dominated by Christian politicians like Tennessee would budge. Normally one may change their mind if their loved ones suffer from the disease.
  6. I remember how much people in my home country were desperate for vaccination at my time because vaccines were expensive. I received a few immunizations, so that saved me time and money when my employers wanted the evidence. It is unfortunate that many people in this country do not appreciate what they have.
  7. Sure. If you think you can throw words out there and suppose that you are being kind, you are entitled to that. I do not have to be obligated to your sentiment when you said "Being a bigot and being proud of it is fine. But your defensiveness says otherwise, you're not proud of it." Who are you to make a judgment about how I feel about myself. That is an act of a psychologist. I do not consent to it. Hence, I responded the way I did. Your defensiveness is not my problem. I did not ask you to reply to me. I did not want to respond to you, either. However, when you play psychologist to me, you will get my unkind words. Like I said, when you don't follow golden rule that your religion preaches, I will not play it back to you, either. It is called fair game.
  8. I have a reason to say that. I don't expect you to understand. That is fine. You are not a minority anyway. It is not your fault.
  9. I have no reason to be polite to the person who acts like they are my psychologist. It is specifically toward that person, not all Christians, although Christians love to play that role all the time ("You don't like Christianity because you are angry at god") Hence, I make that bold expression to that person. When a Christian does not play the golden rule they are so proud of, I will not reciprocate, either.
  10. I aced English in my home country before I was naturalized in the US. My grammar is obviously not as good as a native speaker, but I know what I am saying. Wow, you know my mind too well. I did not know that a Christian nurse is also a psychic. Feel free to keep your term. I am a bigot against Christian bigots, unlike some touchy Christian nurse ? Have a blessed day ?
  11. First of all, I take pride of being bigoted towards Christian bigots. If you want to insult me, use better terms. Secondly, if you are not among the Christians in my statement, I was not talking about you. Finally, your fellow Christian nurse is the one you may need to talk to. They seem to be here to preach.
  12. Christians can never help preaching. Respecting people's boundary is the last thing they are are able to do after all. Hospital is a great place for Christian nurses to recruit souls.
  13. I hope that OP will never be my nurse when I am hospitalized.
  14. The same old proselytization from Christian nurses.
  15. If it walks like a Christian, it will talk like one ?
  16. You are very respectful. Many Christians nowadays cry wolf over this issue.
  17. I checked your posts. They do not appear to be theocratic. Someone else in this forum is a Christian theocrat. That person is whom my posts addressed about. I met such people in real life. They are scary believers.
  18. Evangelical nurses in this forum are like those Christians. I wonder why they became a nurse in the first place.
  19. I have no problem with how you use the word horrible. I view Trump with my available sources and how people around me perceive. There are obviously mixed views. I really think that Trump's action has a lot of influence from evangelical Christians whispering in his ears. One president cannot cause such division in our nation without other forces' intervention. Evangelical Christians are the true danger in political arena these days and ages. Look at the issues that Trump's party has been fighting for ages: LGBTQ rights, ten commandments monument, theocracy, governmental conspiracy, and abortion. The common denominator is evangelical Christians. They are the real threat that people who fight for human rights are aware of.
  20. Horrible as in inhumane or dehumanizing. I don't think Trump is necessarily like that. The problem is that people around him whisper in his ears with policy that is beneficial to their party at the expense of minorities. That is reprehensible. These people are evangelical Christians.
  21. That nurse is an evangelical Christian. I am not surprised. I don't think Trump is necessarily a horrible human being, but his cabinet is filled with many. These people are evangelical Christians. What a coincidence! ?
  22. I hope you would be my nurse when I need medical attention. This attitude is truly what makes me admire nurses. Patients need more professionals like you, NOT pastor in a nurse uniforms. Thank you.
  23. Other religions except Islam do not usually proselytize. Dharmic religions in particular do not view other traditions as spawns of the devil. Had I been ignorant of religion, I might have appreciated your Christian offer. Because I know what your religion is about and your god's attitude about religions that do not descend from Abraham, I cannot simply close my eyes, cover my ears, and pretend that I know nothing about Christianity. Faking my appreciation for a religion that makes proselytization the goal is not something I can do. It is easy for you to give me your "advice" when you are the majority.
  24. Based on what you describe, I am expected to appreciate the nurse's "offer" (whatever that means) of comfort through the only religious system they know. Fine, I can do that if they can do on their part as well. I doubt that they are capable of doing so. Remember that in Christianity, anything that is not from your god is from the devil. If the patient is from a different faith, it is from the devil in the Christian nurse's eyes. You may not think so, but you do not represent Christian theology or Christian nurses.
