  1. Honey, there are a lot of pretentious nurses on this forum. Do NOT ever come on here and rely on complete strangers for advice.
  2. I was in the same boat in nursing school. Did well on exams, but struggled a bit in clinicals due to nerves. On top of that, I had a very unprofessional clinical instructor that would talk about classmates behind their backs. That made me even more nervous around her. It is a common feeling. I don't feel my school prepared me that much for hands-on skills either. In my opinion, nursing school only prepares students to pass NCLEX. Once I became an LPN, I was in for a rude awakening. The struggle was real!
  3. A nursing home is your best option. I am currently in my 3rd semester of a LPN program. I am a CNA. I work PRN, which means I get to decide when I want to work. I am only required to work one 8 hour shift per week. I only work night shift (11PM-7AM) as it is the easiest shift and I make more on nights. The nursing homes in my area are so desperate for CNA's.
  4. Has anyone ever attended the LPN program at Penn Commercial in Washington, PA? How are the instructors? How are clinicals? Where are the clinical sites? Would you recommend this school? Just trying to get a feel for their program. Any bit of information would greatly be appreciated.
  5. Has anyone ever attended the LPN program at Western Area Career and Technology Center (WACTC) in Canonsburg, PA? How are the instructors? How are clinicals? Where are the clinical sites? Would you recommend this school? Just trying to get a feel for their program. Any bit of information would greatly be appreciated.
  6. I just passed my first semester of nursing school. I started in August at age 36.
