  1. I got an offer in a sub acute center, 4 mins away drive from my apartment. 8 could just take bus or walked 20 mins. They are willing to work with my consent order. So I will probably accept it, just waiting for the BRN approval ?. This is my first interview within 2 weeks of sending applications online. Crossing my fingers all is gonna be well.
  2. Hi Hppy, I'm in SoCal area LA, do you have any leads that I can apply to that accepts nurses on probation? Any tips will help. TIA.
  3. I'm on a job hunt now, because my probation monitor is urging me to start going back into nursing again or else CA BON will suspend my RN license. I've been away of nursing profession for long, im anxious to go back. Hoping I found understanding employers out there.
  4. It's really scary to work in Healthcare. People can easily report us, and we are always put to blame. Doctors, family, colleagues, supervisors & BON condemns us the minute we make mistakes. Shames health workers by posting their discipline on their websites, giving them a hard time to look for work.
  5. That makes sense. Thank you for the advice.
  6. Hi, thank you for your insights. My med error involves a PRN controlled drug. It was accounted for, I got disciplined because I gave it without realizing it was discontinued, my case was giving meds without MD order. I guess , that should explained why I got IPN email from BRN.
  7. Hi, I received an email today about IPN. I'm confused because I self reported that I had out-of-state discipline regarding med error. Should I ask a lawyer at this point? Should I just ignore it, wait for the investigation? I'm afraid I can't afford them, besides I already had discipline out of state. It's not like my discipline will disappear if I finish the program.
  8. Hi, I got disciplinary action on my license and it was publish on my BON's website, on top of the page, like a headliner, it says "Please share this information to your Nursing Staff". Needless to say, having a discipline affected my whole being. Difficult to find a job, my confidence level suffered, depression, self-blame etc. I'm still trying to pick up the pieces of myself until now. In my opinion, transparency is indeed important, but having to post nurses with discipline on the BON's website with their names, Lic. #, penalty fee, even the city where we live is posted.... I often think that ex-convicts has better opportunities than a nurse with discipline in this country.
  9. @hppygr8ful Hi, Thank u for the info. I actually had a bad experience with a lawyer. My previous attorney only pushes me to surrender my license to avoid paying fines and once he knew I relocated in Cali, he immediately informs ND BON, thus causing my license in probation eventually to be now suspended, unless I practice RN there. Which got me thinking that I should have not hired him in the first place, as he is not my advocate. He is not a healthcare atty though. I'm glad I didn't surrender my license and continue researching on almost all nursing forums, I told him, I will be in OIG list if I surrender my license, which he have no idea.
  10. Hi, I would like to ask fellow RN's who got a lawyer to defend them while facing license investigation/ accusation particularly in California. How much do they cost? My license was discipline in ND. I relocated in SoCal and would like to transfer my probation in California. I started my RN endorsement application. I would like to know how much an attorney would cost, just in case I will be needing them. TIA
