Hi there! I'm in for ABSN + MSN for Women's Health! I currently also live in NYC so it does kinda make sense to stay for Columbia... But when I went down to Philly to interview for Penn, I really liked the program and the faculty! And I would be ready for a quieter city like Philly. BUT I worry about that 18mo of ABSN where federal funding will be crap for the 2nd bachelor's... Though I do like the flexibility of working in between the ABSN and MSN for up to 5 years. But at Columbia, I could be a DNP, but their program is kinda new. Ugh so tough to decide!! I wanna see the $$$ LOL

Just called them, they said the maximum award was $25,000 and no other need-based aid from the school is available :/ Even with $15,000, not sure I can afford them. Will have to wait and see what other schools offer...

Just received a call that I received a nursing leadership scholarship for $15,000 for the program! (Missed the call, so I just listened to voicemail..) Is that on par with what everyone else is getting??

So the bio and diversity question the financial aid scholarship is asking for is kinda similar to the essays for the application-- do you think it would be okay to recycle some sentences? Who exactly reviews this-- just the FA office? admissions? faculty?

Yes, I also ran into this problem! You cannot create two separate FAFSAs for the same year. I called the FAFSA people yesterday to get their opinion. Basically, she suggested: First send out the FAFSA to all schools saying 2nd Bachelors. Then wait for it to get processed and sent to schools, then make a correction saying 1st Year Graduate to all schools. (or vice versa) Then contact all the schools which are ABSN and tell them to look at the previous version of the FAFSA because it's all documented. Of course, this is just what one representative said to me; I'm interested to hear about any other possible solutions??

Hi All! I received an invitation to interview with UVA (12/9) and UPenn (12/11)! Is anyone else in the same boat as me and doing both these interviews? If you're driving from Charlottesville to Philly, would you want some company? (And I can chip in for gas)

I just called Emory, apparently my application is still under final review... She said there are a few students in my position, but they couldn't delay notification to everybody. And then she said I should hear something by next week, but then oh wait, next week is a holiday week ._.

Maybe it's because I still have some red X's (micro, plus two transcripts) in my application portal that I didn't receive an email or an updated status? I called them previously about the red X thing and they said it was totally fine; that my app could still be read and decided on with the red X's-- was that a lie??
