I could see this scenario happening VERY easily...

I wonder if you could reach out to students already on the program (FB group maybe?) and ask them for a syllabus or what textbooks they used, then pick the course you think will be most challenging and study those topics from the same textbook they use and using the syllabus to know which chapters to go into.

UWorld is awesome (in depth with their explanations too).

They told me it was because they want to improve the quality of their application pool, and that sometimes they extend it out when they don't feel they had enough applicants. "Their words not mine".

I use a top down approach - I look at what I want to do later (ultimately), then work backwards from there. If certain programs offer you better clinical rotations, or the ability to pick a good project later, that could help set you up better. If a program is affiliated with a certain local area, it might mean less driving far out of town for clinicals as well. I'm interested in how their placements work too. Small class sizes are helpful too for obvious reasons (more time to ask questions, more hands on learning, etc.)

Agree with EMTinHawaii - CNA is a quick cert (I have seen programs as short as six weeks), and you will get plenty of exposure.

I've been listening to a lot of her stuff on YouTube recently! I like that it is actual practical advice and simple stuff to just re-frame thinking.

It was helpful for me to make lots of maps and hierarchies. Grouping species together and finding patterns to help "chunk" them.

I have worked as a chemist for many years, and I think Shan gives great advice. One thing I always instill in new hires and assistants is to write out the dimensional analysis to see it. Never skip steps even if you start to feel confident because skipping over one unit can screw the whole thing up. Oh and always make sure the numerator of one side and the denominator of the other side have matching units to cross cancel!

Just remember that you have decades and decades and decades and decades and decades of life left, and some day in the future this will be a distant memory. At the moment it feels like your universe crumbled, and I wish I could fast forward you a few years down the line!
