  1. Got my letter Friday or yesterday not sure forgot to check mail haha. Anyways got accepted, but I'm pretty set on another school that I got into so if you're waitlisted there is still hope!
  2. Just unscheduled my interview so someone might hear from them! Good luck!
  3. I'm sort of curious if anyone received a rejection letter or if all qualified applicants are going to be a part of the February review.
  4. Congratulations! I got a letter saying that not all spots are filled and another review is taking place in February so I’m back to anxiously waiting LOL. What was your application like?
  5. I reached out on 11/21 and was told that applications have been reviewed, but there was a delay in the final review/letters and things should be sent out the following week.
  6. There is a couple that are married on the unit I work on and you would have no idea that they were if you didn’t know them. They usually work the same shifts and keep it professional. Interrupting report is a huge cause for med errors, missing information, etc. sounds like you’d have a case to report it.
  7. Likely depends on the state you are in, but I haven’t heard of challenging the exam. With my ADN program/state I was able to complete the PN-NCLEX after the first two semesters and passed without much difficulty. I don’t know if that helps.
  8. Depends on you. Are you okay with following rigid rules/micromanagement? If not you can have great insurance, but burn yourself out at a job you don’t like.
  9. Saw a doctor note trying to describe pus on a wound as “Wound appeared ___sy”.
  10. With the amount of times that confused/delirious patients have threatened me or thought we had broken into their houses and were harassing them, no way I’d go for allowing this or work with an organization that allowed it.
  11. I would research the TN board of nursing website. I’m planning for grad school and don’t know the exact location that I might end up and have found that some states will clearly state charges/timeframes/etc for consideration with licensing, while others are extremely vague which is unfortunate.
  12. Thanks for the information, consulting a nephrologist regarding upper arm cannulation for ckd3 makes sense and is not something I’ve thought about before.
  13. Seems like the addendum would be more suited for a incident report rather than a patient chart. It was some form of management objectively commenting on their interpretation of the event as told by the nurse who witnessed it.
  14. Sounds like you’ll probably have to retake it, but it’s also strange this didn't come up at any other point. It sounds like you have a case about their nursing school admissions dropping the ball and missing it earlier, but it might be unlikely they’ll give you a pass on it because of that.
  15. On my unit assignments are done hours in advance usually, if staffing/census changes before the start of shift adjustments are made.
  16. Thanks for the rundown. I’ve been interested in learning the techniques with ultrasound IV insertion, but limited with the policies on my unit.
  17. It sounds like if the filter did help, wouldn’t this just mean there was a decrease in the amount of potassium getting to the patient? Without having much knowledge on how much those filters impact the solution getting to the patient it seems like that’d be the only way.
  18. I am not an RN and have no prior education in nursing but I think the program at wgu from my research is completely online except for the clinicals.
  19. I have been researching a lot of different topics about nursing and have been considering entering a bsn program. I have been looking at western governors university because I am currently working full time and it would better suit me for continuing to work through school. My biggest question is will it be harder to find work in Utah post graduation with an online degree, and also if the online degree doesn't matter as much is wgu a decent school or which schools are more reputable for finding a job?
  20. Yeah I don't have an issue learning online and it would most likely be the better option with juggling work in the mix,it's just wanting to know that I won't penalized for it when looking for a job and also deciding which online schools have better programs, and reputations in the medical scene in Utah.
  21. Hi my name is Seth, I'm considering pursuing a bs in nursing and have 0 experience in the field. The reason for this post is I don't know where to start when it comes to schooling. I work full time and have been considering an online course like the one offered at western governors university. I'm a little weary of an online degree though because I don't know if it will be viewed the same as if I went to an actual classroom school. I also don't know how to decide which online schools will be viewed in a better regard to others if it doesn't matter so much. So the main question I have is it better to do classroom vs online for employment outlook with little to no experience in the medical field and if it isn't a big deal which online programs have the best employement outlooks after graduation?
