UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020
Sure! I graduated in December from an ABSN program with a 4.0 GPA. I received my NC RN license in February and my California RN license just a couple of weeks ago. I did my TTP on a med/surg/oncology unit, am a member of sigma theta tau, and have worked for a couple of years as a CNA in a rehab hospital. I have some foreign language skills, a prior bachelors degree from 2009, and career that involved a lot of management and customer service experience. It sounds like they'll continue calling through the next month(s), so don't lose hope!

UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020
Hi everyone! I received an offer today for patient care resources (float pool) for the August start date! I got a call from the manager on 6/29 to schedule a phone interview. I had my phone interview on 7/2, got a reference check email that same day. I didn't hear anything until this afternoon, when I received my offer from HR. From what I understand of the process, if you've already interviewed but don't receive an offer for August, you're still in the pool for October. In addition, I believe they will continue reaching out to offer interviews to people for the October start date. I was told that offers for October can come as late as September.

UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020
Mine still says application received as well. It sounds like in past years, all statuses switched to "routed" at the same time, so I wonder why it is different this year. Either way, by looking at the posts for the previous cohorts, it seems like it is likely still very early in their process. If you do talk to HR, let us know what they say? Good luck!!

UC Davis New Grad Residency Fall 2020
I applied for licensure in California by endorsement (I have an out of state license) and am waiting for approval - I think they'll get to my application sometime in the next couple of weeks. It seems like they're getting through applications pretty quickly based on the processing times on their website.

Accelerated BSN graduates from USA not eligible to work in other countries?
Hi, I am hoping to learn more about the possibility of working internationally if I graduate from an Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing program in the US. I have read through some older threads that make it pretty clear that RNs with less than 3 years of nursing school aren't eligible to become licensed in other countries. Is this still the case? Does having a Master's degree in nursing change this?

"Tell me about yourself" nursing school interview question.
Hi, I am going to be interviewing for a competitive accelerated BSN program. In general, I feel prepared for the interview, except for the "Tell me about yourself" prompt. I feel like I am going to freeze or ramble, and I know I need a well-prepared answer. I have a bachelors degree in an unrelated field (I worked in the field for about 8 years total while in college and after). I took several years off of work to be a stay at home mom. I recently took a CNA class, and received my CNA credentials but I am not currently working. I am currently attending the local community college and finishing up my pre-requisites. I have a 4.0 GPA in my prerequisites. I have a very high TEAS score. The nursing school selection committee has already read through my CV/resume and personal statement. I have read through a ton of interview preparation materials, but most of what I encountered is for job interviews, not for school. Since I don't have a background in a related field, I am unsure what to include. I would really love any advice! Thanks so much.

Anatomy and Microbiology in the summer????
I took both A&P 2 and a chemistry class in the summer. It wasn't hard for me, but did require a lot of time. How easy/difficult has school been for you so far? What have your grades been like? I was advised against taking both, but I'm glad I did, and I got A's in both.

Western Carolina University ABSN. Questions and Concerns!
@Macarro2 I'm not sure if you're still active on allnurses but if you happen to see this, I'd love to hear about your experience with the ABSN program.

Becoming educated about the nursing career
Thank you! That book looks great, I just requested it from the library. I agree that this site has been such an incredible source of information for me. It's really useful for when I'm looking for something specific, but I think things like this book will be helpful in helping me to get a feel for nursing as a job. Thanks again!

Becoming educated about the nursing career
I am getting ready to apply to a couple of BSN programs, and will hopefully start a program in the fall of 2018. I am trying to prepare for both the interview and school by becoming more informed about life as a nurse. I would love any favorite sources for books, newsletters, websites, etc about all things nursing - current events, ethical discussions, memoirs, etc as well as any other ideas on how to become more familiar with/fluent in what nursing is all about. Thank you!

ABSN degree limits options for advanced degrees, working abroad, etc?
Hello! I am hoping to get into an ABSN program in which I will earn a BSN in 4 semesters. I am curious if doing an accelerated program might end up limiting my options in the future in some way. I have heard anecdotal information about some higher education programs not accepting accelerated BSN degrees, because of an idea that students didn't receive enough clinical hours, or something along those lines. And I know that there are some requirements when working in other countries that you have a 4 year degree. Does this typically mean they want to see 4 years worth of semesters on your transcripts? Or that they want a bachelors level degree? I would love to hear any first hand knowledge or experiences of nurses with accelerated BSN degrees. Thank you!

Any feedback about the RIBN program at AB Tech?
