Those things are everywhere in my school! It seems like its the new fad and all the "it" kids have to have one. Grrr they frustrate me
  2. The first time that happened to one of my students, I just about had a heart attack. I knew that it was anatomically possible to happen but I definitely wasn't expecting it to happen and it didn't make it any less shocking!
  3. I swear, each year these parents get worse and worse!
  4. I may need to get myself the same wardrobe! I'm getting hit hard with strep throat right now, it seems that it has been a revolving door. I have a few out with the stomach bug as well.

I am so very sorry! Prayers for you, the family, friends, and the entire community.
  6. I normally stick between the 2 to 3 visit rule but it is all depending on who the student is and who their parents are. At that point if there are no read flags such as a fever or vomiting, I will leave it in the hands of the parents. I tell the parents how many times they have been there and how much class time they have missed and then I let them make the call on picking up their student. Luckily most of my parents are realistic and tell their little snowflake to suck it up and go back to class.
  7. I worked 12 hour shifts 3x a week. We would rotate days/nights every 2 weeks. I now work as a school nurse so I normally work 5 days a week - 8 hour days. Although, i do get holidays and summer off!
  8. No orientation here. Hardly even introduced to the staff by my principal. It was a tough adjustment at first but with the help of my fellow nurses in the district, I was able to figure out my own routine and set the office up the way I liked.

I too use the Ear-ease, they seem to work wonders! I've even used it for myself in the past. I have 4 of them currently. They are about 15 dollars each. I added an extra one to my budget the past two years. LOVE them!
