Pre reqs for nursing !!! HELP

Published

How many semesters and years did it take you guys to finish your pre reqs before being admitted into a nursing school ? including english psych bio chem etc.

Hey there, it's taking me two. I've already completed my first year and I'll be applying for the program and taking my TEAS this upcoming spring semester. I'm in Maryland and starting at a community college although I will be going for my BSN. Hope this helps!

It's taking me 2.5 but only because my first year of college I was not majoring in nursing.

I already have a (unrelated) Masters- so I did 3 courses this summer and have 1 this fall. Another obstacle is that all classes have to be less than 10yrs ago, so I'm taking 2 for the 2nd time. :p

It took me 1 year to finish the pre reqs I needed to be accepted to my ADN program. If you're going the BSN route it should take you 2 years if you register 12+ credits each semester and also take some classes during the summer sessions.

My first round, I wasn't majoring in nursing either. It was actually criminal justice. That's a shame it's taking you another semester longer though.

I am applying for the BSN and for my first year, I was majoring in a BA so I had no science classes. Those are causing the hold up unfortunately :/

I am in MD also, ARCTX85 :)

Are you by any chance attending CCBC Essex?

Nope, I am at AACC in Annapolis. But I did go to UMBC for my first year of school.

Specializes in Maternity.

It took me a year to complete pre-reqs. This included summer as well as intersession classes.

Took me 3 years total at a community college to get my degree in nursing.

Four years (9 terms), one more year to go. I deliberately took that long because I don't want to go full time until next year, in either nursing school or prereqs.
