I'm currently enrolled in community college and I'm planning to take general biology and chemistry together...I'm just wondering if it would be a heavy work load with the labs and my other classes...I know its not impossible...I'm just wondering if it's a good idea? thanks

I took biology and chemistry last semester together and I was fine. Biology is a softer science so you should be able to handle it with chemistry, which is a typically a harder science.
I'm not sure how it would work out with additional classes on top of bio and chem. It really depends on you and how well you can manage the classes together. Maybe consult your advisor?
Thanks I haven't met with my advisor yet but that's probably my best bet!!

Biology is definitely not a softer a science. You will use it in nursing school, it is very important. As it is also huge for understanding Microbiology.

I spent all my free time trying to cram that info into my head;)

We don't have to take Intro to Bio for the nursing program for Connecticut Community Colleges. We take General Biology, which should not be taken lightly.
Are you at TRCC?

My reference to intro to Bio was because that is the course I took and it transferred from another college as General Bio to the Connecticut Community Colleges

It's doable, but depends on how much time you have to devote to it.
I took General Chem I at the same time as A&P I. It would have been much easier if I'd taken Concepts of Chem, but I was thinking of applying to SCSU's ACE program, so I wanted to take the more advanced course so I could meet that requirement. Honestly, the difficulty of the courses will depend on the professor to a great extent. My A&P I class was really easy; actually, it was too easy, and I know people in other sections learned a lot more.
I don't think General Biology is required for the CT CC nursing program. It's not one of the listed prereqs. Granted, I needed bio as a prereq to A&P, but NVCC accepts Intro to Bio as an A&P prereq, so I took that. Much easier than General Bio (which I later took when I decided I really wanted to go to UCONN).

thanks yeah I decided I'm going to do my pre reqs at a diff community college that doesn't offer the nursing program bc they have less pre reqs for those science courses bc the school (qvcc) doesn't really have any health care degrees I don't know what to expect from these science classes lol.
