thanks a bunch mrsbradymom !!!! finally someone put it in english terms and not the usual language. i thought i had it all down and then this morning i go to pre-algebra and the professor was showing us a different way than how i was doing it and i got all screwed up. :angryfire i finally bought a scientific calculator and have been checking my answers. the way you worded it was straight forward and i can grasp that a lot easier ! thanks and i am going to jot that down in my notes !!!!! :tku:

Hey Tiffanysmom,

I am a math tutor in the Philadelphia area. I tutor everything from basic arithmatic to precalculus. If you need any help, let me know and I'll be sure to help you. I log on here everyday, so don't hesitate to ask.

You are quite welcome sweetie!

I too have been out of school for about 17 years. I started last Spring with basic algebra, then took a harder algebra class in Fall. Math was always tough for me, but I am happy to report I made A's in both classes. I can now do quadratic equations like a pro. I won't lie and say it was easy....I put in tremendous amounts of study time. But I had awesome proffessors that explained everything in non-math terms.

I have saved all my notes, which are in simple terms like the ones I explained above. The next you get stuck, give me a yell and I'll dig out my notes.

Good luck!

I am taking pre-algebra this semester also. I also feel like pulling my hair out. I always dreaded math:angryfire And i feel like i will never completly get it. I just wish there was a easier way to learn this subject. Tiffinysmom if you come across any helpful information please pass it on. And i will do the same. I hope we both get A's. I will definetly keep you posted with any good tips.
