Is anybody else dying over this class?? I officially hate it....of the grading, that is. The TA is accusing me of not addressing the question for the DB. I clearly did in my last paragraph. What is with this harshness???

What clas is it? I may want to steer clear of it.
Business Communications. The material is awesome! But, ugh.....the grading. I read in a thread last year that the grading was tough...and it continues.

It is the junior comp, Business English class. I totally agree, this is ridiculous. The grading is unbelievably harsh. I feel like my discussions are way more in depth than others, people must be failing this big time!!!

Be sure to distinguish which Business junior comp. I am in Business comp offered in the NON Academic outreach RN to BSN at OU different from yours and it is not bad at all.
My prof name starts with an F. Older threads for the Business Junior comp class I am in exist here as well.

Yes...it was worth only 5 points or 5% of your grade. The prof assigns due dates in two week increments. Makes it very doable. DB board does not require APA citation or references. No journals. Just a bi-weekly reading response that comes with a specific format. The reading assignments are usually two to three pages at most requiring at least 750 word response. There is one "final" project to be done. You receive all information on every assignment from week one. No quizzes.
If you read the discussion rubric, they expect valid text concepts or outside research with proper citation for it to be a substantive contribution. I wanted all my points so I do give references for DB
So far I have received full DB points with comments including "Excellent discussion" and "Great Participation." I find it freeing to be able to brainstorm and submit my own ideas based on my life experiences, without being confined to a reference and citation that does not involve what I would like to convey. As for the DB rubric I have hunted high and low for this on blackboard for MY class and it does not exist.
So, I will stick with what is working!

I'm in this class too, the one with Professor F. I find it easy and doable. I love having the 2 weeks to get things done, also not being confined to having the DB done a certain way. Nice break, for me at least.

Does dr. F want the planning document in APA? Is there a required length anywhere?
