Please keep me in your thoughts....

I'm in my 3rd semester of an ADN program right now and I have to make an 80 on the next test and a 79 on the final in order to pass this semester. Normally, I would say that this would be no problem for me but I have the most horrible instructor this semester who's mission is to fail everyone in her class, I swear :o Most of our class has either already dropped, currently failing, or borderlining (like myself...)

Hope all is well with your current situation. I know what you mean by some profressors whom are above reproach:

During an exam I had in Nutrition, one of the questions called for naming some different foods high in calcium. I wrote "Sardines" -- straight out of the book! -- but I got it wrong because she wanted to know "What Type?." What Type!? She obviously moves to the beat of a different drum as far as am concerned. And I'll be glad when this class is finally over!

teachers like these are a frustrating thorn...i know teachers who have bragged bout the ones that they 'weeded out' stated that it was good for the profession and that they had done the students a favor by getting them out so that they could focus on something else 'better suited to them'

if you hand in there maybe you know better than they about what type of nurse you can be...complain, go over her head, document, get statements from others..you owe to the students that will come behind you

WILL DO. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP. I'VE BEEN THERE MYSELF. MY SCHOOL SEEMS TO HAVE A COUPLE OF TEACHERS WHO'S MISSION IS TO "WEED" OUT STUDENTS SO THAT THERE WILL BE LESS COMPETITION AT THE END. ONLY THE STRONGEST SURVIVE AND MOST GET SO DISCOURAGED THEY LEAVE COMPLETELY.

DO NOT GIVE UP AND ALWAYS BE POSITIVE. WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU AND ALL OF US WHO ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION ONLY STRUGGLING TO GET TO OUR GOAL :)

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU. I HAVE MANY TIMES HEARD TEACHERS SAYING THIS, AND IT IS SO DISCOURAGING. THEY FORGET THAT THEY WERE STUDENTS ONCE STRIVING TO MAKE THEIR GOAL A REALITY. SOME ALSO WANT TO TEACH THE COURSE AS IF YOU WERE AN EXPERT IN THE SUBJECT. OBVIOUSLY, IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME TAKING IT AND A REAL TEACHER IS ONE WHO TEACHES AND 20 LEARN!

They tell us that the Nursing Program is the most expensive program to run at our school...wouldn't it be better if they did the cutting BEFORE people got so far into their nursing education? This hardly seems economical for society, for the school

I am about to start another thread about this (for all those wondering how it went.... :))

You can do it! We're with you!

Well, guys, I didn't make it. I passed the exam but not enough to bring up that first test. Oh well, God has a plan so I can't continue to worry about it. I messed up but I can go back, in Jan. I am devastated, but I will live.

I'm sorry to here that. Best wishes.

Don't let this get you down though. You will go back into this next semester already ahead of the game because you have already seen the material. You can do this, don't give up!!

:o Sorry about the news. You are very optimistic and have a good head on your shoulders keep it up.. You are right. God has plans and have to go along with it.

I am so sorry! I know there is probally nothing I can say to make you feel any better but, I do wish you the best of luck. Like someone else said you have seen the material & now know how to approach it & I'm betting this time you will kick butt! Good luck & God bless! :)
