Perrla

Has anyone used perrla for their papers? Is it worth it?

It is ABSOLUTELY worth it! I have had it since my associates program and am using it through my bsn and have ALWAYS gotten As on my papers. It formats the paper for you. Another app I use it grammarly. So worth it. Bsn and on is writing intensive.

If it were me, I would opt for EndNote, although it is somewhat more expensive (~ $110 student pricing) for two reason.

First, you can attach your article to the EndNote record, thus making it easier to find.

Secondly, and most important in my opinion, if you use the cite while you write option, EndNote allows you to change publication style and will reformat your document's references and in text citations for you. This option might be priceless if you opt to submit any of your writing for publication.

RefMe has the same ability Chare

I ABSOLUTELY recommend PERRLA. It has saved my behind in my BSN, MSN and now DNP. Recommend without reservation.

Anyone that has went to, or currently going to, WGU using PERRLA? My WGU mentor said she wouldn't recommend it as it formats weird for them...? I really want to try it anyways as I had to just learn APA format the first two times around and it's been long enough that I have since forgotten!

Just graduated from WGU last year. Used PERRLA the entire time with no issues. Your mentor is whack ;)

Whew! I was wondering. She seems very nice but old school a tad bit too. Did you do your MSN there and how long did it take you? I'm hoping for two terms or less but it's just a hope right now.

I just rebought the the sixth edition APA manual and will go ahead and get PERRLA and see how it goes. I don't think she will ever be grading one of my papers to begin with but I imagine she has helped previous students with class papers that they were struggling with before. Thanks for the response :writing: :specs:
