Payment

Ive been looking into excelsior college lpn to rn...my plan is to start the program in February and hope to be done by December. My biggest question is, how have most of you pay for that? Since the RN is all test, their website state financial aid is not available. Previously, I used stafford loans for my schooling... Did most of you take out a private loan to go to excelsior or just paid for it out of pocket as you go? Any advice would be helpful!!! I don't even have an LPn job right now! With all the bills I have plus student loan knocking on my door already, I don't really have the extra out of pocket money for excelsior college but would like to get my RN ASAP! Is 10 months a reasonable goal?

So students have to be enrolled now to do Health Differences? I learn something new everyday

Update: I took out my private loan and well, in order for it to be certified by EC, I had to enroll in EC... so I had to use a credit card (or debit card) in order to enroll. So I signed up for the 6 month payment plan (to have a less IMMEDIATE pay now enrollment cost), pay the $25 fee, and voila! I'm enrolled! So I am officially enrolled despite wanting to wait until I took the first two courses, but oh well. When they certify my loan, which takes about 10 days, I will be able to use the funds to pay for the remainder of the enrollment fee and the exams and so on.

I am currently working on transitions. I will say that EC admissions really pushed enrollment to me. One lady stated that I was required to enroll in order to take ANY Nursing test, but thanks to AN I knew better. No biggie though, I understand the concept of business and profit.

Question for anyone who may know.. Do I have to enroll in order to take the Info Lit class?

Don't do Info Lit through EC -- there is a much cheaper course from Penn Foster that EC will accept. I think it's ... ENG 103? Do a search on Penn Foster in these forums and save yourself a bunch of money! :)

Hmm, does this mean I could also take a humanities through PF? Mostly thinking outloud.. I need a course. EC bioethics exam sounds neat though.

This is interesting is/are many of the classes at Penn Foster accepted by EC?

Hum... this may be a much more economical way to go.

I have no clue about any other classes through Penn Foster, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to ask! I've only heard of other students taking Info Lit through them. I did mine through EC in 2006, I didn't know any better but it was cheaper back then, at least. :D
