Your thread has been moved to our student forum where it will be more likely to be viewed / responded to by someone who is familiar with PAX/NLN test scoring.

Scoring is from 0-200 with no correlation to percentages. They're percentiles based on your performance vs. others

Yes know not no...error but everyone's know what it meant!! Tech/

So it depends on who testing with me..if I pass on not?

It's based on those who are also applying to similar programs. The test is not pass/fail... It's percentiles. Most programs require you score a 50th percentile or higher to be competitive.

Oh wow that's kind of scary my school is asking for a 78%

It may also depend on the individual.

My advisor suggested that I needed a 90 percent to enter the program, after reviewing my grades and whole portfolio; I scored in the 92nd percentile.

So you would say that 78 is not that hard to reach

If you study the NLN book, and get supplemental test questions, make sure you are pacing yourself enough to answer all the questions in a timely fashion, one should be able to achieve above the 70th percentile.

I used to proctor this test. If they want a score of 78, it is actually less than 50% correct. Google the NLN PAX scores and you will see that a score of 78 is more along the lines of a 35% correct. I only had 2 people score less than that on their tests and I proctored at least 200 tests.
