This is my question as well.

I just passed LVN using saunders book and cd. I did the questions first so it depended what my score was. Mostly in the 80's but plenty less and some more. :) I did almost the entire book, got the minimum number of Q's on the exam. :)

I'm scoring mid-to-high 70's. I'm taking NCLEX in 3 days!

Well I used Saunders and Kaplan.

Saunders I was scoring in the 80's and Kaplan in the 60's.

I passed NCLEX-RN July 2007 w/75 questions.

Also, I read all of the rationales that went with the questions.

It still upsets me when I think about that test and how much I studied! The test was horrible (anxiety provoking).....Some of the questions were so strange...I was really unsure if I had passed when I left the testing center. I cannot believe that those 75 questions determined if I was capable of practicing nursing.

You will do fine...and someday (soon) all of the studying/worrying will only be a memory.

Let us know when you find that you passed.:nuke:

I was scoring anywhere from 70-ish% and up on the Saunder's CDs.

I also did the questions more than once....so I answered LOTS of questions overall!!!

I passed the NCLEX-RN with 75 questions, and I walked out of the testing center smiling. :chuckle

GOOD LUCK! :)

I used both Saunders and Kaplan too,

Use saunders for content review

Use kaplan for the questions

As you will see, saunders questions are waaay to easy and no where near NCLEX style. It gives you (in my opinion) a false hope, when you score in the 80's and 90's like i did with saunders but them humbled by the 50-60's in kaplan.

i took the NCLEX 3 times and the NCLEX consists of 3000 "bank" questions to draw from..ive seen about 700 questions total, and Kaplan, is the closest to NCLEX that i have found. (and i spent well over 2000 dolaars on Nclex "material"

Good LUCK to you !

so i could concentrate only in both saunders 4th edition and kaplan question trainers and i could get the passing grade?

I used Saunder's only....not Kaplan.

I really think it's a matter of seeing the material OVER AND OVER AGAIN....eventually, something sticks!!!

did u use suzanne's plan?

if not how many questions did you do each day?

did you do more questions than studying the material?

what topic should we focus on?

how did you deal with meds?

thanks & congrats!!!!

Specializes in Operating Room.

Thanks, first of all. :)

I didn't use Suzanne's plan officially, but I started off with her Step 1.

I did at least 100 questions a day, sometimes 200+ throughout the day. (Kiddos were at school, nothing better to do...lol)

As far as focusing...I focused on all of it, but tried to focus a little more on my weak spots.

Meds....I did pharm section tests just like the other sections.

I definitely did more questions than studying, but each person should do what they are comfortable to doing.

If you are use to reading, READ, but add questions to test your comprehension of the material.

Read the rationals also..whether you got it right or wrong. These puts understanding on other topics, and again, the more you see something, the deeper it goes to memory!

Good luck to you! :)

i used saunders comprehensive 4th edition with its CD.

i scored 70's to 80's

i also used kaplan CD Question trainer. i scored between 50-60%

i really felt i was not ready at all, but i needed to take the exam right away as my ATT would expire already. i ended up with 265 & passed with God's grace.Ü
