Passed the boards try #3 - try this new book!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Just found out this morning ... I made it! Took the RN boards on July 4th, what an Independence Day! What a relief. This was my third time taking it - tests 1 and 2 took me all the way to the end with 265 questions and then this time it shut off at 75. I was a wreck between July 4th afternoon and this morning when I found out - have a bad stiff neck from being so tense, have a tingling throbbing cold sore erupting on my upper lip, and I've had diarrhea for the past day and a half, but it's all been worth it! :chuckle Anyway, enough blowing my own horn --- I owe it all this time to the following book:

Saunders Strategies for Success for the NCLEX-RN Examination

by Linda Anne Silvestri

This is a new workbook just out this year by Linda, who also does the fat green book for the Saunders review. I used these two together to review, review, review. The more practice questions you do the better. Her new book is awesome, extremely user friendly, I felt like she was sitting across from the table explaining things to me. Just wanted to HIGHLY recommend this book to those taking the boards in the future. Tremendous help!!

Congratulations! You did it!!! :balloons: Best of luck to you in your career!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! :balloons: :Melody: :yelclap: :yeah: :smiley_aa :w00t:

congratulations!!! Can you give me the complete title of the book and what edition?

I bought that book as well-it has lots of helpful hints on how to take NCLEX-has strategies on answering alternate format questions, meds, prioritizing, positioning, communication, etc. It also has 265 questions in the back and a CD rom with 500 more questions on it. I found it very helpful for me and liked this book a lot as well as the Saunders Q & A book and CD rom too. I read the strategies book two times before I took NCLEX and I passed it in 75 questions! The book is : Saunders Strategies for Success for the NCLEX-RN Examination, Linda Anne Silvestri, 2005, W.B. Saunders Company. It has a blue and green cover. Hope this helps! :)

Congratulations! :Melody:

Congrats on passing!!! I understand how stressful it can be. i took boards yesterday and I think i was in tachycardic the whole time. I did have tunnel vision on that computer screen and I hope I passed. I've called the results line and mine are not in as of yet but should be by tonight. I got 75 questions, Is that a good sign? I hope so. I also used Saunders but I found the Kaplan 2005-2006 book and cd rom were helpful on priority questions. Wish me luck please.

Bori, I just passed my test with 75 questions and I used the Lippincott cd's and Saunders and Mosby. The NCLEX doesn't ask questions exactly like any book I have seen. I think that as long as you know your material and believe me I know it's alot of material, you'll do fine. Doing the questions just helps you get into the right frame of mind about how to take the test. It's really not as bad as it seems at the time, try to relax and take your time on the test. Good Luck You'll do Fine!!!!!!
