May 19, 201412 yr It still doesn't make sense - Wouldn't the list of alternates go to the empty spaces? Or maybe they have a second list of alternates if all the first list gets in. It's all very bizarre.
May 19, 201412 yr Want to think positive but i don't think they'll have a 2nd round if they already sent out the alternates
May 19, 201412 yr Author From what I remember from other schools orientations, they send out the acceptance and then the alternates. if alot of the people accepted decline then they choose the alternates. if the alternates decline as well then they have to go from another batch. I was told that at one school one year they actually had to use all the alternates and redo the lottery cause their were so many spots. so we will cross our fingers
May 19, 201412 yr I'm not gonna wait on PCC, i have other schools waiting on my acceptance to their program. Good luck to those that have, or will be accepted.
May 19, 201412 yr The second round would be the alternates of the alternates. So, if all the alternates decline their spots, they would start digging deeper and getting other names to fill in the open spots, which means that it would takes weeks before they know everything. Somebody on other PCC forums mentioned that they were notified of acceptance after the school has already started. If you guys already received some other acceptance letters, I suggest to accept those spots, in case that all the wait for PCC ends being futile. Good luck to everybody!
May 19, 201412 yr I have officially declined my offer into the Fall '14 program at PCC.I wish the best of luck to whoever gets to take my spot!
May 19, 201412 yr Yes. We'd be alternates for the alternates that get in, but reject PCC's offer to the rn program. There's still some hope left...but i agree; if you have other schools that have accepted you or are still waiting on a reply from ther schools you've applied to then just focus on that and if PCC ends up e-mailing later, then we'll have choices. Good Luck everyone! And thanks @enzyme and @ ShannonKelly Good luck to you as well in the programs that you guys got into In the end we all want to be nurses and I have no doubt that we will get there. Keep your heads up guys:laugh:
