Packet 3

Just received mine after I140 clearance 5 months ago :angryfire

Has anyone past or present, been told to send their Police Check cert off with Packet 3? It's not what the NVC state - usually get it all sorted for Embassy interview? I've contacted NVC and await their reply as this will delay us for another month :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :smiley_ab :smiley_ab :smiley_ab ::bluecry1:

Cheers

OG - still planning on booking the turkey from M&S for Xmas.

No you dont need your police clearance until the embassy interview, unless things have changed. ??

:balloons: Great news! No you don't need your police certificates until embassy interview as madwife says. I was there in July.

I had pk3 in june & no we did not need the police check.

Just take police check with you to embassy.

great that it has finally come through :)

Thanks for everyone'e help and advice on this so far.

I don't think things have changed - my processor in the recruitment company has made an error in his understanding of things (yet another thing they really should know about and don't - they get paid to do this, I don't and know more than they do about immigration) and has lied to me to cover his backside.

I am trying to get the facts so I can hang him with it. I can't stand being lied to to cover incompetence. I have had 2 and a half years of incompetence in this process and was promised by the VP that post I140 I wouldn't have any more cock ups or delays.

Anyway, nearly there.

I've asked this question before, but why are the heads eating the dead horse below - are they French? I can understand the 'flogging' bit, but the eating bit just baffles me.

[evil]now i'm really cross[/evil] just rang the nvc who have, surprise, surprise, told me, as i bloody knew, that all you need to send is the ds230 and copies of passports.

telephone calls have been made to recruitment company boss, extremely grumpy messages left, terse e-mails sent and i've not calmed down yet.

hell hath no fury than a bloke who's been pis*ed around way too much over the last few years.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

I feel angry for you, is your recruiter British?

things must change all the time, as when i had packet 3 it included loads of things to do, one of which was to get our police checks done at that time. if we had waited for the embassy interview then it would have delayed us, we had about 4 weeks notice for the interview and the police checks wouldnt have been through in time.

my understanding of the process is that packet 3 gives you notification of the requirement to get things sorted now for the embassy interview in a month/two months/three months etc. gives you enough time.

my packet 3 came with lots of stuff to do, then the appointment for the interview came in may for our early june date, so if we had left it till then it would have been too late, i think that you have to have the police check done prior to being given an interview date.

but then it was two and a half years ago for me now, so i could be mistaken.

apparently, according to the police they have 40 days to respond to your request for your police file, but it shouldnt really take as long as that, some do, some take longer, the trouble is if you get your check too early it will not be valid and you will need another.

ogp sent me a list of all the documents needed for the interview its about as long as my arm lol

i hope i dont forget anything on the day, how awful would that be????

yes, that's what i've said on the last page! you get the police check done (along with immunisation history etc) before the interview - not to send with the ds230, but to take with you to the embassy.

i think my recruitment company in the us have explained all to me in a phone call tonight. nurses from india and the philippines are often asked for their police checks at ds230 submission time. my recruiter in london got mixed up.

cheers
