ogp nurses and retrogression

hi, my friend recieved a letter today telling her that her visa interview may be delayed until 2007 due to the retrogression being lifted

i wonder if any of you on here have also recieved the same letter, she is very upset at the thought of it taking so much longer?

anyone?

we feel a bit confused as i thought this only effected nurses from the pic countries she is english, so how has this had a negative effect on her immigration

thanks

What stage is she at in her immigration?

If her paperwork is at packet 3 and beyond it will not make any difference but it may delay her if it is before these stages because the paperwork builds up in the centres and they have to clear the backlog of the PICC countries.

i did wonder if it was due to clearing the backlog

she has her i140 and the request to pay the visa fee has been recieved but it hasnt yet been paid (16 weeks later)

so the nvc havnt received her ds230 yet

i feel really sorry for her

Oh no!!! Not again! I've only just started with all the paperwork. Anyone know if this is for real & if so any ideas how long it could hold things up? I think my husband will freak if it's going to take over 12 months again because he's just accepted an offer on the business based on the fact that the immigration process usually takes 12 months! AAURGHHH! Don't think I'm going to mention it in the hopes that by the time I come to file it'll be over again!:banghead:

All of you sit tight, provided that you were born in the UK. If you remember with the retrogression last year, there were nurses from the UK that started the process in February, and actually were in the US in August with a green card. Fro a few weeks things are crazy at USCIS, but then things will get done much faster for others that are waiting that are not affected by this.

And it will be more than the three PIC countries, it is expected to include 7 or 8 this time. Not sure of the definite list yet.

The PIC countries are the Philippines, India, and China.

I think the fact that OGP is warning them via a letter, makes the girls very nervous. Whether they should worry or not is another matter but we both know OGP dont we!

hmm yes

to hear a few chinese whispers on the internet about it is one thing but to actually receive a letter about it from the agency is pretty worrying

shes devestated as we had to wait months for the i140 and now may face a delay of 'several months' according to ogp

i suppose there is a possibility that they are just covering themselves and nothing will come of it, lets hope so as there will be a few cheesed off people on here otherwise

You know OGP have hundreds of PIC nurses on their books who live and work in the UK-it is whom they make their living out of. There wouldnt be enough money to be made from the Uk nurses to make it worth their while, we are only a few. So maybe the letter was a broad letter which went out to everybody because they couldn't discriminate the UK nurses from the foreign nurses.

The letter actually says it will affect all international nurses and interviews are due to be stopped for a while after November
