I also got a rejection letter, then an acceptance, and then another rejection letter all in one day.

WOW! that's crazy. You should get accepted to the program since they sent you an acceptance letter.

Did everyone who got in have A’s in PSY 230 & BIO 141, with all co-reqs completed, and live in the surrounding counties?

The only difference for me is I live in Fairfax City, but I didn’t really think that I was far enough away because they said Northern VA (and supporting counties)

I think you definitely need clarification from NOVA about why you received both accept/ reject letters today. Maybe someone jumped the gun on a second batch of accept. letters and more are coming?? I haven't heard anyone saying that they received a wait-list letter either. Maybe some other criteria was considered b/c it seems like too many people would have had the exact same score so what was used as tie-breakers? Just spitballing here.

I agree. I asked the same question about tie-breakers several pages back but never received any kind of answer. it seems kind of unfair if ppl have the exact same qualifications that they don’t move to another requirement (GPA, etc.) to determine.

I’m not applying until Spring, but it’s kind of scary LOL. it feels like a total lottery.

This was my first time applying and I got accepted but I had an A in PSY 230 and a B in BIO 141. I also completed all co reqs and live in falls church. I was supposed to take the TEAS but they closed right before I was planning on taking it.

Yeah, it definitely felt like a crapshoot. I Know they’re probably working with EXTREMELY limited clinical sites this year, so I totally get it, but it’s especially tough to know that you can do everything right and it still isn’t enough. I feel like the Spring application period this fall is going to be especially competitive too, since there are so many qualified applicants here who will be applying again, in addition to everyone else who would’ve been applying them anyway.

I responded to my rejection letter today asking about the waitlist and received a form letter that said: “We had a very competitive pool of applicants this year. We will be admitting another group of 80 - 100 students this fall for a January start.” And they referred me to MEC for specific questions. I’ll report back if I get additional information!

I just don’t understand how some people got in and some didn’t, even if their stats were better. Please let us know the response! I’ve reached out to mec nursing and mec counselor. I’ll give updated information when I can! Hopefully they respond tomorrow!

Also, if they sent out all the acceptance letters how can they say 60-80? Wouldn’t they know an exact number?

I got that same exact copy-pasted response to my email as well. My question wasn't answered, it seems it was just a copy-pasted email response. I also got the rejection, acceptance, and then rejection email. ?

I got the exact same thing as well! I am so upset! The response was sorry for the confusion, you were not accepted and then the copy pasted part that you all got as well.
