Hey guys,

I thought I'd create a forum for all those starting nursing at UofT in September 2012 :). Hope we can all get our questions answered!

were u accepted kayp?

Yes I was :) I just officially accepted my offer yesterday. How about you?

unfortunately no. not yet. mind sharing your credentials?

I graduated from UofT last November. My cGPA was 3.47 and in my last year I believe I had a 3.71. I've done a lot of volunteering at Community Living, as well as at a physiotherapy clinic. I also raised funds for a couple charities through where I work.

I hope that helps. And don't worry! I heard they're giving out acceptances till June. I believe in the first round they only gave out 40-50 offers which means there are still 120 spots available :).

I am an IEN and applied for the BsN at UfT. I haven't heard from the admission in awhile. Would it be a problem if I have a diploma in nursing?

Kayp sorry, how were you informed by the admission office? Via email or mail?

Hey I believe UofT does require at least two years of university :(. I don't think they have a bridging program.

I was informed by the admissions office via email.

Thanks for the response Kayp. Another question...which may be a little odd to you, but if you dont mind sharing- how many courses did you have at the 400 level? and what did you study in particular. Pardon me if im prying too much and if you dont want to answer I completely get...im just trying to gather as much insight as possible.

Thanks..

I was just admitted!!!

Hey all!! So excited to start in September. Does anyone have any more information re: the vulnerable persons criminal record check and the health status forms/medical tests that we need to get? I wish I knew more so I could start on them now!!

I was in nursing for about a month before I took the year off, haha, so I can give you an idea. You're going to need a 2-Step TB test, and proof of Immunity/Vaccination for MMR, Tetorifice/Diptheria, Hep B, Chicken Pox..all of which needs to be signed off by your doc I believe. So, at the least, right now you could book an appointment with your doctor to ensure that you have everything on file, and, if not, you can arrange to get bloodwork done for proof of immunity. Hope that helps :)
