Nursing Loans?

Featured Replies

I used Sallie Mae and received a pretty decent interest rate and the application process was quick and painless. They release the funds to your school and any amount that remains for that quarter or semester is released to you by check. Check out www.salliemae.com

Good luck

i have my other student loans through wells fargo & i think i'm going to go through them again for nursing school. you might want to check out their rates & fees & everything.

good luck! :)

Always try government student loans first! They don't look @ your credit, just your need & you get great rates. Some states like mine will pay them back for you @ 20% per year & they don't do that w/ private student loans. You can apply @ fafsa.edu.gov

Good Luck!

thanks. I'm lookin into the ones mentioned.

keep them comin! :)

If you are eligible, a Federal PERKINS loan is a wonderful choice. You would need to confirm this with your fin aid officer, but this loan is eligible for full, 100% forgiveness for "nurses and medical technicians" after graduation.

My school awarded me Direct Sub and Unsub Stafford loans automatically, and I had to go in and verbally request a switch to the Perkins funds. Have any nurses out there gone through the Perkins forgiveness process? I just wonder how much paperwork is involved, and whether it is submitted to the school, the hospital, or both... Anyone have experience with this?

I just recently got a loan through Chase Bank, the interest rate is good and you have the option of not having to start paying it back until after you graduate. I wish I could have gone with a Federal loan, but I go to a small 2 year college and they don't do Federal loans. Here's the link if you're interested, good luck!
