Normally nurses do not advertise what their salary is. We are told by management not to discuss what we make. Go to Salary.com and you can get a ballpark figure on salaries in different areas in the United States.

Well I'll tell you how much I made after taxes, it was about 24000. Pretty sad isn't it. My insurance pretty much sucks unless me or someone in my family gets very ill or needs surg it's not worth the $400/mo. I pay for it. We do have flex plan, 401K, college planning for your children, ST or LT disability, CA insurance. Just depends how much you want to have taken out of your check.
As for management not wanting nurses to talk about their salaries that's BS. They don't want us to compare notes because they don't want to pay us any more than they have to.

Be advised that the US has 50 different states and countless cities and towns. Each city offers drastically different pay rates to nurses based on multiple factors. One part of the country is known to pay RNs $17 to $20 hourly. Another part of the country is known for paying RNs over $50 hourly.

I can't help but notice that you posted the same question in the Canadian Nurses Forum. You list your designation as a PN. Don't you have access to a lot of this information at work?
You need to be more specific in your search for knowledge.

Each person's tax structure is different from everyone elses. and this is something that most consider personal information.
You can easily check out the salaries in one area as well as what the taxes are there and then do your own calcuations. But this is not the place for people to post their personal information.
The web is not as anonymous as one thinks that it is.
Can you be much more specific as to the information that you are looking for and why? If you are in the US, then you should be aware of what the tax requirements are in your area.

It was just in our paper today the average salary for area nurses is 25.00/hr. Seems about right to me.

You need to check out the cost of living in the area where you want to work and compare it to salaries. By cost of living I specifically am refering to housing costs which radically differ depending on locale.
In which "area" are these nurses being paid $25 per hour on average?
