Just curious where do you work (area if uncomfortable with hospital) and what is your schedule like? Does your unit do self scheduling, work a matrix etc?? Thanks!

I work in Indiana and my unit has set schedules. I work Thursday, Friday and Saturday Nights.

Self scheduling. Must work one Sunday night per 6 week along with 4 weekend shifts.

Hospital. Modified self-scheduling. Shifts/days close out when they are full. Sign up order is on a rotating basis to keep things equal. At the end of the sign up period the schedulers look at everything and move people around to ensure fair coverage of evenings/fridays/weekends.

Specializes in Psych ICU, addictions.

In my facility, we all work fixed schedules.

Specializes in OB.

We have a schedule buddy and we self schedule. I like to work my 3 shifts in a row. Luckily so does my schedule buddy.

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PACU.

We have to meet a matrix, but we self schedule. We have to schedule one full weekend and a split per 6 weeks, 2 Friday's and 1 Monday. Our schedulers move us if needed.
