I use my electronic calendar for most everything. However, I back that up by using a paper planner that I work in during the week. I prefer Passion Planner.

I just log into the scheduling program every so often and look at it to make sure I know what days I work. I don't usually write it down anywhere.

My workplace self-scheduling software makes us schedule for 6 week blocks at a time. I use my monthly calendar to schedule to make sure there are no conflicts. I didn't follow my own rule on this last schedule, so I will end up missing both my kids' band concerts.

I also keep a weekly to-do list. There is something satisfying about crossing stuff off the weekly list.

Where would I be without my monthly planner? Nor where I'm supposed to be. Someday I may change to a higher tech planner but for now I like the permanence of having it written down.

I use my phones calendar and an app called NurseGrid. I am able to quickly put in my schedule on the app then sync it with my apple calendar (which goes to my iPhone, iPad, and Mac). I use apple calendar for appointments (hair, doctor appointments, etc) and put in reminders, plus I have reminders every month for my car payment, insurance, other bills, etc.- they are on autopay, but I like the reminders that the money is coming out of my bank account.

I did that once upon a time until I didn't show up for a scheduled shift once until the charge nurse called me wondering where my butt was.

I use my calendar on my Mac which syncs with my iPhone as well as my watch. Having it sync to my phone makes it handy when scheduling appointments. Have the next thing on my watch is handy too in case I forget the exact time I need to be somewhere

I work agency, so being able to see the month at a time helps me to schedule shifts which work with my appointments, etc.
