Also, I would like to know my school and clinical schedule for winter since I work weekends and I haven't decided if I'm going to leave my job yet. Thank you so much! Aug 24, 201015 yr Hi giggles,You can find all the information regarding books, lab coats, and schedule here ----> NSU College of Allied Health and Nursing Orientation Information.I would'nt suggest buying the books until you receive your information since they might change things. I advise you to save all the money you can now but do not buy anything until you get the information for you class. nova seems to be very inconsistent and might change from one semester to another .

Thanks! I really appreciate all the advice. I'll definitely wait. We all how nova changes things. But at least ill have an idea of what to expect. I wanted to know if we are going to have clinicals on the weekends. Currently, I work for Baptist weekends only and I don't know if I should leave the company. I have been with them for 4 years! So this info is very important especially since there won't be a scholars program in winter! Again thanks. and good luck.
Aug 24, 201015 yr Giggles, there is no way of knowing what your schedule is going to be so early in the game. Fortunately, we get to pick our own schedules starting in the second semester. So keep that in mind when you are doing your planning. We will have more freedom to schedule our classes and clinicals. The best thing you can do now is to relax and prepare for the storm. Lol
Aug 24, 201015 yr We dont start clinicals until the second semester but in our schedule it states that teacher are subject to change dates for supplemental class. Meaning, it can be on evenings and weekends. As far as working, I work as a accountant for the city and have been there since I was 15 and im currently 20 yrs. Since I work full time 9-5pm I was able to convince my boss to let me stay in my position but come in only on Sat. from 9-3pm to do ALL the work of the week. I told him that I do not know how long ill be able to do that for but to expect me to quit with short notice. My boss LOVES me so he agreed! as long as he can keep me until I will no longer be able to work because, classes are getting too tough. So for now im working for 6 hrs a week until I find the course work overwhelming and then ill quit. Maybe you might be able to work something with your boss? If not school is always more important! It definately hurt me to leave after so long and take a big cut in income. But in the end its all worth it :)Good luck
Aug 24, 201015 yr Oh I see. Well glad we get to pick our schedules in the second semester! My boss loves my too so she had worked something out with me. Currently I work 12 hour shifts (9:00am-9:00pm) but she is allowing to pick my own schedule while in the program. Money isn't a huge issue my boyfriend is a nurse for Baptist as well. The problem is that I know how difficult it is to get hire through Baptist since they not trying to hire outsiders. They are only hiring the scholars or internal...

Aug 25, 201015 yr welcome guys.... im actually a 3rd semester at Nova Ft Lauderdale>ADVICE: TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME!!!!!!FOR 1ST SEMESTER the hardest class is A&P ( just read the ppt and if you dont understand it then go to the book) really read.... and enjoy because you dont really start your nursing classes untill 2nd semester.2ND SEMESTER (OMG) i dont want to scare you but...
