Not study & still passed

I'm not sure what your study habits are, but you can always use the NCSBN learning extension. They have 3, 5, and 8 week reviews. I have used the 3 week review as an addition to my studying, as well as a friend of mine who used the 5 week course only. We both passed with the minimum.

I find that one should invest their time studying for the NCLEX...at least get use to the question format...it's not about if you study too much or too light...some of those extremes have made people not pass the NCLEX. Most say minimum 1-2 months, anything less or more on average decreases your chance of passing the first time. It depends how YOU study and how well you study. Good Luck!!!

The NCLEX PN I hardly studied and passed with the min amount of questions. That was 7 years ago. I'm really studying for my NCLEX RN now since I have kids and a job riding on this.

I did the live Hurst since my school paid for it, watched all the videos once, read the book once and did the Q reviews.

I passed with 75. I was freaking out bc I did not study anywhere near what people on here say they do.

My friend also did the same and passed with 75.

Got the good pop up 40min. later. Took the NCLEX-RN and took me about an hour in a half. Did not study at all, I "glanced" at some things the night before, and did Hurst review twice. I would say nursing school is what prepared me the most. I think if you got through that, then you'll be fine. Good luck!!!!

I graduated 18 years ago and attempted the NCLEX RN in 2011 with minimal studying and failed miserably. Took it again Dec 2012 and passed with 88 questions. This time around, I studied diligently for a total of 4 1/2 months and stuck to a disciplined schedule.

Thanks everybody for your comments! I appreciate it! It's not that I don't want to study, it's very hard for me to stay focused, and with having 2 kids, can't find the time! I've never really had to study when it came to school, but I guess I'm freaking myself out for this because it's one of the most important things I've ever done. I just need to buckle down, I guess! I did the NCLEX PN in 1992 and passed the first time - pen and paper exam.

Then, did the NCLEX RN in 1994, did not study one bit, passed in 20 minutes with 75 questions.

And no....I'm not all that smart either. I learned a lot in school and just applied that.

tcooks, I know what ya mean. I have 3 kids, one which has severe ADHD and a husband who is never home to help (due to working his butt off for us, so I wouldn't have to work while in school.) And after school, I just needed a break from it all. I had no desire to even crack open a book. I was too busy trying to get my life back together after school lol. I was an average student in nursing school and had to study my butt off, just to pass the exams. I really felt like school prepared me enough. Good luck...from one tired momma to another :)

Then I suggest the NCSBN program. It is a pretty through program where you can study the material and do review exams, all online.

I bought the NCSBN..I did a post test and checked my answers, but I see no rationales. Where are the rationales located?

When I did the NCSBN, the rationales were at the bottom of the question, and I just scrolled down...I thought there were no rationales when I started as well.
