Handling rude co workers
i don't like the look on their face when it's directed at me for no apparent reason. If I did something to them to make them all of a sudden not like me, then let me know. Don't walk around mean mugging me, especially at work. I understand that not everyone has to like everybody else, but for the sake of your job, which requires teamwork, then we should leave our attitudes at the door. And I'm sure their eyes aren't rolling because they can't help it, like your mouth, unfortunately

Bed Bugs!!!
Well, the first case that had bedbugs, I told the company, they told me I had to tell the family so they can get it taken care of. I told the family & they were already aware of it, just 'forgot' to tell us nurses. This other case, my agency told me they had a problem with BB recently, but had gotten it taken care of, but I was there a few nights ago & I killed 2 as I sitting on a vinyl chair & killed a third on my leg as I was in my car getting ready to come home. I work 3rd so the majority of the time, I'm sitting there anyways & I've gotten bit at both cases before. I just thought that the agency shouldn't or couldn't send us somewhere that knowingly had an infestation. Just doesn't seem fair, but it guess that's life...thanks!

Bed Bugs!!!
Ok, I have been with this nursing agency for almost a year now. I was working a peds case for a couple of months when I discovered the family had bed bugs. I'm sure you've all heard how bed bugs have resurged in the past years. I understand that an agency can't force a family to do treatment or whatever, but can an agency force us nurses to go back to the home? I don't find it to be safe. No, they can't harm us per se, but who wants to be a bug's meal? Is this right? What are my rights, aside from quitting?

Vent/Trach RN's in Southeastern WI
Ok...so, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but I'll try. My mother needs help; three years ago, my grandmother had a stroke, 1 year afterwards, my family decided to bring her home to live with my mother. Well, we have had these three PDN's that have been there since & they are not the best, to say the least. One of the nurses, whom is the self-appointed case manager, has crossed so many lines, her license needs to be stripped away immediately!! I'm not sure if I can go into too many details, but she has committed medicaid fraud, had sex in my mother's house while she was suppose to be working!! She is disrespectful to my mother & has completely taken over her house! I feel that she does this because she knows that my mother is totally reliant on them. Trying to get nurses to go to Kenosha, WI and who are vent/trach certified is difficult...most of the nurses are in Milwaukee and don't want to drive that far, but it's only 45mins away. Is there anyone who can or who knows of anyone that can work on this case? I would really like to report this lady & find someone else who is respectful and cares enough about themselves and their client to take better care of them. The only other option that my mom has is to put her back into a nursing home in Milwaukee, WI... please email me if you can help [email protected]

Ped client with a difficult mom! HELP!!
Yeah, I'm thinking I have to agree with you on this one. Especially because in the text she said she "heard" that I didn't want to work with them anymore. That leads me to believe that someone from the agency told her that and they shouldn't have. They should've told her anything but that, because it puts me in a difficult position. So, I think I'll just ignore it. I've already deleted her number, next I'm going to block it and document it...

Ped client with a difficult mom! HELP!!
Hello, fellow nurses!! An update to this case: I have been off of it for about 5 weeks now and I am happier than I have been in a long time. But just 30 mins ago, the crazy mom text me and wanted there to be no hard feelings between us because her daughter was so attached to me and she wants me back on the case. Apparently, my agency told her that I didn't want to be on the case anymore, which of course is true, but they should have never told her that. That was just unprofessional. My plan was to get another nurse in there as a back up and then slowly let me off the case, not just pull me! But, whatever, that's done now. Now, the new nurse isn't working out and she wants me to come back!! LOL!! She was the most rude person I've ever met and there was so much more going on in the house that I didn't even bother to say because it's so unbelievable and I honestly don't think people would believe me. I have not responded to her and am contemplating just ignoring her or telling the agency that she has text me, yet again, cause she text me 3 weeks ago and asked me to call her...What do I do?!

When someone asks you what you do for a living, do you say "nurse" or "RN" or "LVN"?
- PLEASE HELP Before they kick me out!
I'm sure in the beginning of the program the rules were explained to everybody concerning attendance, cheating, requirements and everything. When I went to school full-time, I was also working full-time on 3rd shift, a single mother of 2, and I had to travel 45 mins mon thru fri back n forth to get to school/clinicals. I never missed a day and was always on time. So having children is not an excuse.- Ped client with a difficult mom! HELP!!
I do not have to deal with her anymore! My replacement finished her orientation and I start a new case on Monday! I wish nothing but the best for the client and pray the mom treat this nurse better so that she can take care of her as well as I did!- Frequently changing a scheduled med's schedule
So glad I don't have to deal with that crazy woman anymore! My replacement finished her orientation today and I start a new case Monday! I wish the best of luck to her daughter and pray that she treats the next nurse better so that they can take care of her daughter like I tried to!- Frequently changing a scheduled med's schedule
I totally agree! I think the mom would be upset if I did call the pediatrician because she thinks she has to handle everything & I know I won't have the support from the other nurses seeing how they just do whatever she wants them to do. But this is all in the best interest of the child so I will give her doc a call. Thanks for the advice everyone!- Milwaukee
