I hate nursing
Hey Needy! I can identify with you and agree with you somewhat. First off, I don't come on here posting or asking any questions anymore for the simple fact That I usually get met with such negativity! I doubt if people weren't behind their computer/phone screens they would be so negative. I thought this forum was suppose to be about helping each other out, sometimes they do but other times they just tear you down. Sometimes I get upset and frustrated too with my jobs. That's when you know you need to change professions. Have you tried a different aspect of nursing? Maybe there's an opportunity where you can do admit nursing or get into Wound care. I know a few lpn's who do that. Also once you get your RN, more opportunities will open up for you. Good luck!!

Placed on administrative leave, reason unknown
The situation is over with. I hate that things had to happen the way it did, but apparently this was not the first time something like this has happened with this employee. Thanks again

["1:48 pm by SmilingBluEyes You put your business out there for people to read, form opinions and reply. That you don't like some answers, does not, in any way, constitute an "attack". You come off defensive here in writing; I can only imagine how you sound in person if this is how you respond when things don't go your way. This is a public forum; take what you can use, and implement it and discard the rest. End of story." Imagine & form opinions all you want. This is a free country. Is this not a place where someone can come & vent? I was asking a specific question & got upset when alot of people didn't answer the question. It was already nerve-wrecking enough to have to deal with the situation, now I have to be essentially yelled at for speaking up about something? You all didn't have all of the information to even respond on the fact that this person & I don't get along. You dont know the whole story, therefore you shouldn't speak on it. With the information I did put out there & the question I asked was what should have been answered. That's the end of the story. And to sum it up even more, he got fired & I didn't. Thank you & have a good day

Well, whatever happens happens, I suppose. I learned my lesson...

Placed on administrative leave, reason unknown
I feel attacked because people are asking why did I report him & I should just suck it up & work with people I don't get along with & they are totally not seeing the issue. He only refuses to do something for a patient when he's upset with me & I have that patient. Isn't that an issue? Isn't that neglect? All I was trying to do was fix the problem by not having is work together

Thank you to those that actually took the time to answer my question. I'm starting to feel attacked which is why this is the first thing I've posted in well over a year. It's such a catch 22. We get told by our supervisors to report any wrong doing we see, but as soon as we do, I'm the one who's wrong? Double standard. There was obviously other things going on between this person & I that is irrelevant to the question I asked, which was 'What are my rights as a nurse? Should I have been told why I am on administrative leave?' It's stressful enough being a nurse; I usually just hold everything in & when I finally go to someone for help, I get made to feel like I did something wrong when all I was trying to do was rectify the situation. Thanks

Well, I have never had any complaints about me before, but the other person frequently has issues with other co-workers. I just don't think its right that just becauae someone doesn't like me anymore, should mean they don't have to take care of our patients.

They haven't told me anything whatsoever, just to wait for them to contact me. I haven't brought up anything to them & have nothing but good marks on my record. It's just nerve-wrecking

It wasn't a nurse & when it comes to the other worker refusing to do something for a mutual patient, then it's a huge issue

Placed on administrative leave, reason unknown
Hi all! I have an issue & really need some advice. I've been having issues with a co-worker. I went to their supervisor to let them know basically, that person & I probably shouldn't be working together. The supervisor goes & tell the co-worker. Later on, i get a phone call saying I'm on leave pending an internal investigation. They didn't, couldn't or wouldn't tell me why, so I can only guess. I'm pretty confident my co-worker has something to do with it out of retailiation. Now today, I still haven't heard anything. I'm curious as to my rights as a nurse. Dont I have the right to know why I'm suspended? Im what cases don't I have that right?

Handling rude co workers
Yeah! See I am very shy & reserved. I've only been in AZ 2 years, have no family or real friends here, I really think I've lost my confidence which makes me an easy target, unfortunately. Back home I was very confident & assertive; I've just lost it & that sucks. But yeah, I will check out that book. Thank you much!

Handling rude co workers
I know! It's extremely childish! We're in our 30's & 40's and yet I feel like I'm in middle school...

Handling rude co workers
I see what you're saying...maybe they see me that way because I keep quiet & keep to myself. I do this on purpose because in the past I've been burned by 'work friends' & don't want the same thing to happen again. I just want to do my job in a pleasant environment & go home. Thank you!!

Handling rude co workers
Anybody else ever had to deal with rude co workers? I have no idea what I have ever done to these females. This one in particular is the charge nurse. If I ask her one little thing, the look on her face is as if she'd rather die than talk to me. I really don't understand it. She trained me for goodness sake & was very friendly in the beginning. I went on vacation, came back & if looks could kill...Another nurse, in started with, she was cool at first, too, but now since her & the charge nurse have gotten tight, she walks around rolling her eyes at me, too. I don't understand it at all. I come to work, do my job, don't talk crap about anyone, yet I get mean-mugged. I try not to let it bother me, but of course it's going to bother me, especially because I don't know what I did to them! It makes a 12 hr shift extremely unpleasant. Should I ask them what's their problem with me? Or just do my 12 hrs, get out of there & forget about them?
