hi everyone! :) i am a 31 yr old stay at home mom of a 3 yr ld and a 9 yr old, and my husbands grandparents live with us. when grandpa gets a job, i will be caring for granny who has medical issues. anyway, i came to the realization that nursing is what i want to do a couple years ago. i am slowly taking baby steps to get information from the cc in town. the university in town has a nursing program, but, i just dont think we could afford it.

years ago i went to school for agriculture, but, never finished to get my associates. i have contacted the school to see what i have left to finish it, just to be able to say "hey.. i went back and finished" unfortunately i dont even live in the same state anymore, so it may not happen.

like i said i am taking baby steps, and my next step is to make an appt with a counselor at the cc to give my transcripts and get information about financial aid as well as more information about the program they have. i was considering going through one of the hospitals where you sign a contract to work for them and they pay for schooling, but, i dont know if we will be staying here long enough to fulfill that contract.

i get excited as well as very nervous when i think about going back to school, as well as going into the nursing program. anyway, i just joined here today and wanted to say hello to everyone.

Hi and welcome. I'm just trying to figure out why grandpa (who must be in his 70's at least) has to work??

At any rate, that's not the point. Welcome and good luck.

Actually, Grandpa is 60 and Granny is 82 ;)

Hello and welcome!

I'm 36 years old and have been in school for a little over a year now. Like you, I was very nervous, but excited at the thought of going back to scool. I'm sure you'll do great as you settle into a schedule and get used to being in classes again. Good luck :o)
