Im a rn in the Philippines but I don't have any working experience due to job shortage there and before I know it ,its been long years since I graduated. Where are you now? What state are you licensed in? Passing the NCLEX is but one step in the licensing process. Do you have work rights in the US?

I am in the same boat, however I have a few experiences.

Can you look into volunteering opportunity to gain experience. Once you get that keep contacting recruiters until you find those who are willing to give you a chance.

Most volunteer opportunities that offer hands on clinical work require previous experience. Inexperienced nurses or other volunteers do not get patient contact or clinical opportunities.

Start checking the career section of your area hospital's website. That will be a start. Then if you know any RN's start networking. You just got to have a thick skin (but still mindful)in this game.

Hey... we're in the same position. I'm also from the Philippines, nclex passer, never been employed. I graduated 2010. Tsk... the job market is even tougher for international nurses with no experience. I don't know if potential employers would even bother considering hiring me because it's been such a long time since I graduated... I don't know what to do.

Have you considered an RN Refresher course?

Have you considered an RN Refresher course?

Yup. I think this would be a good idea. I'm searching for schools that offer rn refresher courses near or within my area right now. It's the only other option for me. *sigh*
