NET study tips WORK! Thanks Csantos!!!

Hey guys i'm a future fall nursing student at Chattanooga State and on first attempt my net score was a 81 composite. I have an average GPA so i really needed a 85 or better to guarantee me a spot (they take everyone with 83 or more overall points, I was sitting at 80.8 with that score) well I have been stressing about retaking it because i have ONE shot for a retake . Well I followed the study guide tips that Csantos posted (ERI study booklet, ERI online test, online test questions) for three weeks and sure enough after a nervous couple of hours I got my scores back, 97 on the math ----------85 on reading comprehension!!!! COMPOSITE 91!!!!!

I was so excited!!!! Unless the standard of applicants goes up dramatically I am pretty sure i have a spot in the fall program!!!

Anyone who needs a good NET score should pay close attention to that thread. It helped me a lot!!!

P.S. I took the computerized version and it seemed a lot easier because you dont have to bubble in the answers(waste time) and there is no chance of bubbling on the wrong line.

Thank you for taking the time and reading what I had taken my time to write!

I am so glad that I could help onme more future nurse just like me!

Csantos, Can you help me with the following questions?

33. Four tenths of 18 equals:

41. 1.5/50% = ?

45. Express 8.6% as a reduced fraction.

46. Express 160% as a decimal.

I too am working on these questions....

If I am correct for #46: To change a percentage to a decimal, you have to move the decimal 2 places to the left. So the answer is B.....1.6

oh and superramvette....congratulations on your hight test scores!! your post was encouraging! :yeah:

Thanks

Sorry, hit the enter button too fast. But thank you. I take my NET on the 6th and want to make sure I know how to do all the problems. :D

I'm sure you will do fine too. I am presently taking a "Prep" class to help me prepare for the Net exam. I will be taking it in March.

Maybe someone else can help us on the other questions.

how do you get enrolled in a prep class? is this offered at your university?

Southern Westchester Boces here in Westchester County (I live in NY) offers the prep course.

33. Four tenths of 18 equals:

1 tenth = 1.8

4 tenths 1.8x4 = 7.2

41. 1.5/50% = ?

1.5 / 50 = 0.03 move the decimal point twice since percentage has 2 zeros

then you get 3!

45. Express 8.6% as a reduced fraction.

860/100 >>>>> 86/10 43/5

46. Express 160% as a decimal.

1whole and 60 (not whole, since on percentage 100^ is a whole)

1.60
