NCLEX right after program

Yep, I did it. Took it 2 weeks after my program was finished. The NCLEX was actually easier for me than ATI testing I had in my program. I don't recommend it but I passed after 86 questions.

My Step Mom took it right out of school and passed with 89 questions. I waited about 3 months and studied and passed with 85 questions.

I graduated Aug 6th and took the test Sept 8th. I studied for about 2 weeks. I had a PN NCLEX book and did 3 practice test on line. I also went to the books store for about 3 days and sat in there for about 3 hours reviewing test from other NCLEX PN books. I passed with 85 questions. I went through a good program so it was review.

Oh wow okay. I graduated from St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, Michigan. I guess that everyone passed the test last year, and our school has a highly successful passing rate for the first time. I also graduated from a really good program. Ive been taking practice tests all week from NCBSN. I'm still waiting for my ATT which feels like forever. Thanks for the posts, theyre helpful.

I know of people that have taken it within about three weeks after graduation with successful results. I was not comfortable doing that, because while I studied intensely, I noticed that there were areas that I needed to review. I was just fortunate enough to have not had too many questions in certain weak areas. I sat for the exam in three months. If you think you are ready, go for it. To be honest, NCLEX-PN was such a strange exam to me, that it didn't really seem to matter what I did. I passed the first time in 40 minutes, 85 questions. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. Congrats on passing the test! :) Especially within 40 minutes, impressive. What did you use to study? Ive been using the NCBSN online review. I find it useful. What do you suggest?

I used several resources. I used CDs from Saunders, Delmar's. Incredibly Easy, Mosby and Lippincott so that I can see different styles of exam questions.

The main comprehensive review book I used was Delmar's. I also purchased CDs from Helen Feuer to listen to on my way to and from work, and to review things. Their CDs were great-it was like having a lecture whenever I wanted it, and they explained things so well. Someone purchased the NCBSN program as a gift, so, I was really answering as many as 400 questions a day and timing myself. I discovered that I would probably complete the test if it were the maximum amount of questions in about an hour and a half (I was always a fast test taker). I would use one study guide but get your hands on as many CDs with questions as you can, and make sure that you study the medications used to treat the diseases you are studying.

I also used to do at least 20 calculation questions a day. Good luck. It will be over before you know it. I have been an LPN for a year and a half, now. Time sure does fly!

Yep, it took it about 4 weeks after graduating and did not get any of those NCLEX study guides or really "study" from my "school" books because I was already working. Passed with 85 questions.
