NCLEX Review Course

Published

Well.. I sent in my $325 for a 4-day NCLEX Review course. It has a money back guarantee and the hospital is giving me $260 of it back PLUS they are paying me $15/hr to sit in the class for 4 days.

So I guess it is a win win situation. :)

Anyone else take or thinking about taking a review course??

Also for December grads, when do you plan on taking the NCLEX?

The review course sounds good. i did it and it only helped me slightly. I failed the n-clex (after the review) and after that a friend turned me onto mosby n-clex cd rom. I learned more from that cd than two years of nursing. I just passed 5 days ago! Even if you are going to do the review (and i would, especailly if the hosp is going to pay for it and your hourly) I still recommend the cd rom. It is like training for a track meet: A brain work out and be prepared to pull your books out at the same time. you will not be dissappointed and neither will your patients when you go back as an RN. :D

Congrats on Graduating in DEC. Before I graduated I took a review course by sylvia rayfield. She goes all over the US teaching a 3 day review course and once you pay you can attend again for free. I also purchased her Insanely easy books (2) which helped me tremendously since im more of a visual person. Saunders also publishes a good question and answer book with a cd-rom that I used. Kaplan didnt help me much nor did the princeton review books. I took a month to study and focus on my weaknesses between the day I grad to the Day i took the nclex. Passed 1st time. Hope things work out well for you!!! Have a good thanksgiving too.

Nurs2B -- Great deal you've got going down there!

Is that the Kaplan course you're talking about?

Good luck!

When I went to the convention in New Orleans, there was a review that sounded absolutely great to me. It was the Hurst review series. Marlene Hurst travels across the country to do NCLEX reviews, and she also offers a video tape series to those who can't attend the live session. If any of you were at the conference, she also had a seminar, but I can't remember what it was called. SHe was really funny and had a serious southern accent. ANyway, I want to take her review series if I can. OH, yeah, she offers a payment plan on her review courses, too!

I used nclex rn study book. I took my test four months after I graduated and it only took me 75 questions to pass. All you have to remember are the fundamentals of nursing ABC. Take the test asap don't wait too long and don't read into the questions too much!!! Good luck.

Hi all... I am taking a NCLEX reveiw class right now. It is a 3 day course and it is mandatory through my nursing program. I will be graduating next Thursday on the 18th. I really think that this course is great. It is helping to tie everything that I have spent the last 2 years learning together. I am really learning a lot. I am not sure when I will be taking the NCLEX, but hope to as soon as I can.

Good luck to all

I highly recommend the Hurst review! Excellent material and entertaining too!

I am on the 3rd day of the Hurst review and it is awesome! She is dynamic! She also has a way of explaining things that just makes them seem sooooo simple.

hey girl,

i am also on my 3rd day of a review course through meds, inc. (the same people who offer the ls rn computer program). it is so boring! they gave us a review book on the 1st day, and they have pretty much just read the book to us. our school paid for this course and require that we attend all 4 days before they will sign off on our board application.

the hurst review was the one that most of us wanted to attend, but it is being offered this week, also. i believe memphispanda is attending that one. however, the hospital that i am working in offers us the hurst review on videotape for free, and they will pay us for 32 hrs for viewing those tapes. not bad! i plan on completing those next week, so i can take the nclex asap.

about our new usernames, i am sorry, but i haven't been able to come up with one for ortho. i think i am going to change mine to "errnmoni". how does that sound? i am not that creative, sorry!

holler at you soon!

Hey Moni...

I like erRNmoni.. Gotta put an emphasis on the RN ;)

I think I'm gonna either go with OrthoRN or BonesRN... :)

Does anyone have study guide tips for the NCLEX? I am planning on taking my exam at the end of October and would be appreciate any guidance.

We used the ATI testing center at school and I can't afford a Kaplan review course. I have looked at a number of posts talking about Suzanne's Plan. Since I can't find this anywhere, can anyone point me in the right directions. HELP! I fell overwhelmed. :uhoh3:
