Nclex in the philippines

Published

I applied for an RN exam here in Ca Bon. But unfortunately i was denied because of my scrubs/hospital cases. They stated that i should have finished all my scrub cases at ncm 104, not during ncm 105 which got me so frustrated. And they are asking me to enroll in nursing school here in Ca which is impossible for me to do coz the tuition fee is not affordable for me.So my question is can i take my Nclex exam in the philippines even without a local licence? This is the only option i can think.. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Take an exam for a different state. If you take your exam in the philippines, you still have to apply for a specific state. You can always take the exam anywhere but you need to apply for that specific state. for example, you want to take the texas BON nclex but take the exam in cali, you can do that. i hope this helps.

My NCLEX application in Cali got denied for the same reason as yours.. So, I tried another state which is Illinois and I finally got an eligibility and ATT.. My suggestion is that you search for the requirements of other states and see which one will be easier for you to comply.. Taking the exam in the Philippines won't make a difference for the requirements will still be the same..

Moved to the Nurse Registration forum

NCLEX is just a part of the nurse license procedure. Many have had issues with CA denying them so you need to a) have a good read in this forum and b) decide where you plan to live and work and then meet that state requirement. If CA is your destination then you will have no choice but to meet requirements which will be hard as currently most nursing schools will expect you to complete the full nursing program and not just take the courses required by the BON/BRN

It still depends on what state you would want to apply for. Phil is not a state of US but im not sure if there is a testing center in the phil.

You can apply for licensure in another state, but be aware that, if CA says that you don't meet their educational criteria, you probably won't be able to get a license by endorsement in CA once you're licensed in another state, as you still won't meet CA's criteria. Are you prepared to move to another state to be able to work?

Thanks for the reply guys and gals, .. I will try to apply in other state...

Thank you very much for the infos

hi julyne, i had that problem too, i got 3 friends that got denied at CA,two of them graduated same school as mine. so i decided it's time for plan B, one of those 3 friends of mine applied to FL then after 2mos he got his ATT, so i saved a few for the application for FL (cause we all know that applying for the licensure is not cheap at all, so i have to save first :) ) anyways, so i did try to apply to FL NCLEX, i applied last jan 28 then processed it, sent all the requirements of the board then on april 28 i received an email that my application status is eligible and got my ATT. but hey i don't know if you wanna try FL but still you can endorse yourself to other state ( uhmm yeah as long as you meet their requirement for endorsement) and oh i'm a grad from the phil and wasn't able to take the NLE. don't know if this will help, just wanna share. :D

Knowing that the cost of getting licensed is not cheap, it's real bad advice to tell others to get a license in one state then endorse it over to the state they really want to go and work in. One should simply apply for the state they prefer to stay in for several years to work rather than jump from one state to another, since they only means one must now "qualify" themselves with their college transcripts all over again and pay another set of non-refundable application fees PLUS possible cost to do the required state's English exams (if needed) plus another cost to have their courses evaluated.

The reality is to simply apply into the very first desired state (outside of the enforcing concurrency ones) in the first place as all this "state hopping" only drives up the cost to get the same license plus it's a total waste of time (to wait for exam testing date, time for the results, etc.).

To avoid the inevitable (of not wanting to take the English exams and/or have the courses evaluated) only means that the real first state choice BON requirements still have to be met anyways. One needs to face it directly and move forward not take steps sideways then have to go straight again.

I mean in the above quotes, as long as your friends decide to stay and look and work in FL, that's fine, but if any has the intentions to move to another state via endorsement, then you can see, it's only going to cost them more money and waste more time to try to get endorsed into the state they should have applied for.
