Nclex in CA

Hi everyone,

i took nclex-rn on 17th and still waiting for the results. Can anyone tell whether SSN has anything to do with delay in getting results?

it's so miserable waiting for the results..... If i didn't provide SSN wont my results appear on BON website?

The other moderator of this forum (who has extensive experience helping international graduates) never, ever recommends California for initial licensure of foreign grads. I think it is partly because of the miserably slow delay in getting results if you do not have an SSN.

It won't appear on the site since you have no SSN. You will receive a letter stating your results in (I think) 4-6 weeks.

Thanks guys for the info, i think the only option left for me right now is to wait for the BON to send me the results via mail, gonna be long wait huh???

EricEnfermero, Was it possible to apply for initial licensure in some other state, while i am residing in CA? Does it matter if i had my address in CA and could i still apply?

You can apply to which ever state that you want for licensure, it has nothing to do with where you are currently living.

California does not issue a license for a foreign nurse until they can provide a SSN# to them, therefore no license will be issued and no name will be seen on their website. Takes a little over two weeks to receive the letter if you are already in the US and in CA.

Thanks suzanne for the info.

I got my results from CA BON, and i got my exam cleared. I had to wait one week for them to send me the results via mail. Though waiting was miserable, the result makes me happy now.

i have send you a PM, and hope to receive reply from you when you get some time.

HI Suzzanne, just want to thank you in advance for all the help you've given in almost all the threads... i feel as though i have a friend who gets close at time most needed... for all the encouragements, infos and learnings... Thank you! muahhhh!!!!!

grace 0310,

I came to know about my results only when the CA BON send me the results through mail. My name was not published on the BON website as i didnt have my SSN. Waiting for results to come through mail was the only option left for me and i got it in 13 days time including SAT, SUN and thanks giving holidays.

Hope this info will helps....

Hi! You can't check it via internet if yo don't have SSN. Just wait for about 2 - 4 weeks.. The BON will just send you a letter stating that you passed... Hope this helps!
